Tulip Question??

What is the life span of a bulb? Mine have been in, several types, for about 8 years. I seem to be losing the amount of bulbs I get every year. Is it time to dig up the old bulbs and plant new in the fall? Thanks

Patrick dig them up, but do not throw them away. When mine stop flowering I dig them up, separate them, replant them adding a large handfull of bone meal somewhere else. Those old bulbs still have some life left in them.

Lots of times they just need to be separated. All spring flowering bulbs need to be separates every now and then, just like perennials.
