Well I have several days to find some good ones!

Did someone say Star Trek convention?? I LOVE Star Trek.. Oh man now I've done it.. Everyone will know what a geek I really am!!!

Yes Chris left for the Air Force last week.

We didn't here from him until yesterday morning at 4:30 AM. The phone rang and usually at that hour we just let it ring because who calls at that hour except a prank?

Well Jeff got up and answered it and it was Chris sounding, in Jeffs words, "More mature than I've heard him!"

He said "Jeff, its Chris, here is my address.." and preceeded to spew out 8 lines of text that you have to write to get anything to him. Jeff said he could here the Sargent in the background shouting "Get moving, come on, you don't have all day!"

Jeff commented that it was rather early and Chris said, "Yeah well they don't give you much choice about when you can make calls around here."

So he did actually make it there and I guess they aren't going to call us to come and pick him up.

I'm so proud of him..I hope he makes it through without a nervous breakdown.

I miss him but it was time for him to start a life and this will give him maturity (we hope), life skills and an excellent job. He will be FAA certified to work on planes when he gets out. His job right now is going to be a Tactical Aircraft Mechanic..working on the jets.. just like my brohter who works on A-111s (I think!)

Melora - I sure he will get through everything just fine. My BIL went through it (he's not in anymore) in January '94. We went down for the ceremony (Texas). It was interesting to see how nice and neat all the beds and closets were.

Boot camp in elementary school? Now that's a thought. Too late for mine, though. She's almost a teenager. I guess that means she's beyond hope. LOL!

I sent my PM but I didn't get a TU. My answer was wrong, even though it made complete sense to me. I'm still contemplating this one.
