I read you can bring your own tubes/rings to SAB, but they have to be transparent. Does this mean completely colorless/see through? All the transparent tubes we've found have been lightly colored. Any idea where they carry "clear" tubes?

Thanks,

Julie

Last week when we were down there, we walked through the pool area just as it was closing. I was talking with the guards about that subject of the tubes. Yes they have to be clear. They also have to have a hole in the center, and can't be larger than the ones they have there. Can't help you on where to find them, maybe try a search on the net.

Thanks. Still looking around on the net for clear tubes.

Good luck! A friend of mine owns a pool supply store and has never seen totally clear tubes.

I ended up renting one on our trip. It was $3 for an hour or $10 for the day.

Between the weather and our plans, the hour rental worked out well for me.

We were there in March and I had bought an innertube at Target. It was clear on the top and solid purple on the bottom. Before blowing it up I asked the lifeguard if we could use it and he said yes. We used it all three days we stayed there. It was very inexpensive.

Other threads have indicated you could use other tubes up to 36" in diameter and transparent tubes up to 48" in diameter. I bought a couple of 36" tubes at the local discount store for $1.99 each and will bring them. If we can use them, great. If not, big deal -- I'm only out $4.

We will be @ BCV the last week of October and would be happy to pass them along to another DVC member checking in as we are leaving.

DARN! Funny, I JUST walked in the door from Target where I bought four tubes for $2.99 a pop. An earlier thread someone said they called and were told any color up to 36" or a bigger tube that is translucent in color. I just bought 36" tubes that are clear blue.

Guess I'll find out soon enough...

I am willing to bet that they will allow the semiclear ones. The guards that I talked with were pretty laid back. They were saying that these changes were lifeguarding regulation changes, not resort changes. That is why the rising sand is gone as well.

We went to SAB last summer, and we brought a tube with us for our dd age 11. I can't remember where we got it, but it was multi colored, not clear, and we had no problem using it. The lifeguard even inflated it for us!

Can you buy them at SAB or are they rentals only? Anybody know how much? Are they totally clear or do they say anything on them? Thanks!

They rent them. They are $3 an hour or $10 for the day. They are totally clear.

That would be me! After all that, I forgot to bring the ones I bought and ended up renting one for an hour. Worked out pretty good, since the weather and my schedule only allowed for about an hour at the pool anyway!

Have a great time! :D

Yeah, I'm curious too, what about the sand? Is there no more sand at SAB? We've never been to SAB before, but we were looking forward to the sand bottom for our upcoming BCV trip in Sept.

According to everything I read, you shouldn't have any problem using them -- get the totally clear one just to be safe.

We just returned 6/13 and I had bought colored see through ones at the Dollar Tree for $1 a piece and we were able to use them no problem. They weren't as large at the ones you rent but they worked well for us. We gave them away on our last SAB day.
