TTC thread take 2

well, I have some news. Yesterday we met our BIRTHMOM! She already has a scheduled C-section....on November 17, the day before our 5 year anniversary!!

It happened very very quickly. We are not using an agency. This just sorta fell in our lap a couple of weeks ago. We are EVER grateful. I know that many people have to go through SOOOO much to adopt, and we do not take this amazing blessing for granted!

I'm TERRIFIED now. It doesn't feel real. It seems too good to be true. And I won't let myself get too excited. Nothing is ever set in stone with these things, until you have the baby in your arms--or rather, at HOME with us.

We are still on the embryo list at the RE. When they call, we are able to accept any embryo they offer, and we can keep it/them in storage until the time is right. Hopefully this adoption works out, and we will wait to use the embryo in about a year, 2 max.

keeping fingers toes crossed for you :woohoo: That is amazing

nooo, 4 months is not long ENOUGH! I am worried that we won't get everything done. We have to do our homestudy and everything! Then get this house cleaned all up to a Tee and begin to get the nursery ready! I'm perfectly okay with the months going by at a normal pace, to be honest. :rotfl:

Hello! D.H.&I have been T.T.C. since Feb. when I went off the patch. I was hoping this month was our month but I got sick and then it seems like I ovulated early (T.M.I.? LOL) and like my fertile time was over so soon. I'm still holding out that, you know, mayybe it happened this month, but more of me is like, well there's always next month. I haven't been getting sick as much lately (last time was April), so next month should be good if I don't get a B.F.P. by then.

thanks everyone!!!!

ooh, thanks for the tip!!

We are leaving Monday for vacation. I have so much to do and pack this weekend it's unreal. And my grandpa & memaw's anniversary party is on Saturday, which I cannot miss :goodvibes And then telling my parents, yikes! :scared1:

We will have to start the process as soon as we get back next weekend. This is unreal!

I am SOOO glad to hear that you got all your paperwork done in one weekend. I hope that we are organized enough in order to do that. I am nervous about it all, as we aren't the best filers. LOL

I have a love hate thing going with the new Adam Walsh law. I love that you have to now be federally checked to adopt. It keeps the bad people from running state to state. It just bites for us that never been in trouble before.
It takes a good 6 to 8 weeks to get those back and you can't adopt without it. We also have a new law in our state that you have to have Carseat training before you can take the baby home so check that out right away too. It is hard to get into that class sometimes. It is the dumbest waste of 3 hours of your life if you have to have it. They don't teach you a thing.
We are awful about paperwork here to but really the worst part was writing out your history's. That took the longest.
I am sooo excited for you!!!!!!!!
Good luck with telling people

oh God, do you know how nervous you just made me?? (don't feel bad, I NEED To know these things)

Yes tbh, it totally sickens me that we have to go through so much bull spit to prove that we are going to be able to raise this child, but crack*****s that get pregnant when they aren't trying (and throw their babies in dumpsters!), or teenagers that get pregnant at the drop of a hat while high on ecstasy (my cousin) don't get drilled to see if they are capable of raising the child....all because their body parts work properly.

Seriously?? Okay, I'm off my pedestal...for now.

We told my parents yesterday, and my mom's reaction was priceless...while my dad's reaction was....NOTHING. Not so much as a smile. Okay, so now b/c I can't get pregnant, adopting a child, b/c it's "uncertain" is not good enough for him. He KNOWS how long we've wanted this, and now he couldn't so much as even FAKE a smile for us????

Oh Cher, such wonderful news!! You will have plenty of time to get everything ready in 4 months!! And don't let your dad get you down. Maybe he just needs some time to process everything. For whatever crazy reason, some people aren't as open to adoption as others. But once that baby arrives, if not before, he will be thrilled, I'm sure!

Cher it will be Okay. You have to jump through a lot of hoops, but you will be fine. I agree with you about druggies having babies. There is nothing worse then having to withdrawl a newborn. I have even had to give them drugs here at home to help with the withdrawls :sad2:
I am sorry about your dad. My father is the same way. He is worried. My dad has a fit every time we adopt  Having your mom on board is wonderful.

Cher, your Dad will come around.
The people that love you the most are also the ones that worry about us the most.
The paperwork is overwhelming when you look at it but you'll get there.
We did all the international paperwork as well & that also includes USCIS, fingerprinting, etc. etc.:confused3

You are going to get everything done:thumbsup2

I hear ya sister!! WE have to jump through hoops for adoption while others just waltz into the hospital. Burns me up!!

Hang in there. Dad will come around. My family was luke warm to us adopting but when the moment came and we brought our son home, they were excited and very happy.

Well after our 1st IUI cycle I went in for my beta today and it's a BFP!!!! However it was low at 38 so I go back on Friday for beta #2. I think maybe I had late implantation as I had a light pink discharge yesterday at 13dpo. Anyway I am hoping and praying that the number doubles by Friday and this pregnancy is viable. DH is out of town but I called him earlier and told him. He kept calling me today at work to see if I had heard but even though I told the RE's office to call me at work they called me at home and left a message to call back. Luckily I was able to get a hold of the nurse 5 minutes before the office closed for the day. I am still in shock and trying not to get my hopes up too high in case things don't work out.

Good news to all here!

I've got good news too! I saw my neuro today and he diagnosed me with Catamenial Epilepsy. (Seizures are brought on by AF).

It turns out that when my girlie system is messed up, so are my seizures. So...once I have the surgery.....

my seizures may just go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2::dance3::yay:

Wouldn't that be awesome? No more seizures (or only infrequently), colon issues, girl probs, and best of allll........................:cutie::woohoo:

2nd beta came back at 37 :sad1: so we are stopping the progesterone so I can miscarry naturally. I knew the odds were stacked against me from the beginning but I was hopping that maybe things would turn around. Anyway I am trying to look on the bright side a) if I was going to miscarry I would rather it happen earlier than later b) I know now that I can get pregnant c) we had planned to move on to IVF with the next cycle but now that IUI worked we are going to try that and wait until the beginning of next year to do IVF if I am not pregnant by then

As always I appreciate all of you ladies and your support it means a lot to me as none of my family and friends except my DH knows what is going on.
