TTA closed throughout July???

I thought it was supposed to be open in July. Just read it's down until August now.

My kids love going on that.

Around Easter, the refurb was postponed (for like the fourth time I think) to start in June and end in August. Complete bummer I know.

Just another example of poor decision making. High capacity attraction - Let's close it in the dead of summer.

It was supposed to be closed early in the year due to work on Astro Orbitor, etc. and they changed their plans. It was to be closed when we were going to be there May 2-9, then that changed and it was up and running.
I forgot when they changed it to, but knew sooner or later it would be down for a while. We like it too!

Just read It's Tough To Be A Bug will be closed too. Wonderful.

My wife wants me to try and use the points we rented at the Boardwalk and try and switch them to California for next summer, spend 2 weeks at Universal, and go to Sea World, Busch Gardens, Legoland. Basically wants to skip Disney all together. Not sure if the seller could do that, but I'm thinking it's not a bad idea. I can't wait for Universal, but am not in the least bit excited about Disney this year.

Exactly. We all know refurbs have to be done at some point, but closing something like that for the entire summer is just stupid.

I actually love that ride. Provides a break from the summer sun. Is a good way to spend time waiting for those few minutes before FP is ready at SM or Buzz. Like you said...understand the need for rehabs...it's just hard when they happy when you vacation.

I don't understand why they close it in summer either People use this ride to cool off and rest for 10 min. It reminds me of the summer of 2007 (I think it was 2010), when both Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion were both closed for refurbs. Thought it was odd they'd close them in the summer, but oh well. Our trip is in August and the TTA closing is just a little too close for comfort

If so, that does suck. I was hoping to use that for a break from the heat in about ten days when we arrive.

I would like to see the original narration come back, but not looking for that to happen

Not to start a Disney VS. Universal thing, however, I understand all attractions need to be refurbed at some point during the year. Universal is no different in this respect. That being said, for the past 6 years, we have split our time up with a week at Universal and a week at Disney, always in July. Not once in those 6 years, have we ever encountered a ride that was being refurbed at Universal. Call it what you want, but clearly they realize, the most crowded time of the summer is not the time to shut ANY attraction down.

Yes! When they changed the dates, the People Mover was now open on my trip and I was excited. I almost wish it had been closed because it really needed the work and was not as pleasant of an experience as it should have been.

To those worried about missing it, in the state it was in it is almost better to go without. It's tough I know, but it will just be better once it's back.

I understand the need for refurbishment, but to close it during the summer is just poor planning. One of the few relaxing/cool rides in Tomorrowland where you can get on with little wait time.

You guys, Disney knows what they're doing, I mean it's not like they would shut down major attractions and the main source of transportation in and out of the parks for people who pay a premium to have that transportation available to them, during their peak season.
