While most of the staff inside the ride were great, a couple of them were very snippy. I was leaning around the corner to see Mr. Potato Head, not wondering over, not jumping up and down and screaming, just leaning around the corner to see if he was turned on... and the guy snapped at me that, "that's not part of the ride!"

And couple times getting on... I'll admit I am a tubby guy, and it had been a long day, and I don't bend in all the places I used to bend... so I am sitting down to get situated so the stuff in my pockets are not jabbing me and easing into the seat, the staff was snippy about, "sit down" and "pull back on your bar NOW"

Not that I expected royal treatment, but when I rode in the afternoon... and doing the same situating to be comfortable, no one sniped at me.

I'm sorry you met some awkward CM's. It can spoil things somewhat.(You should try visiting the Paris park, the majority are miserable there!!!)

We never met a grumpy one all evening. We kept saying how fantastic they were, friendly, happy and helpful, with some special ones here and there. I wonder sometimes if some people are more serious in the way they do the job. We call them 'jobsworths' over here. You know....'it is more than my job's worth to let you do such and such'

I hope it didn't spoil your evening.

nothing would have spoiled the evening, it was not a situation where they were rude, just snipy

I thought the ride staff was awesome! Chatted w/ a few of them and they were all polite and helpful.

Outside though...:sad2:

My friend and I were processed through the registration line fairly early and were told while in the line that once we had everything to move over to Pixar Place so we would be out of the way.

WELL...

You would have thought we were trying to enter Fort Knox! Two CMs started yelling at us to go back and "wait for the rest of our party."

When I tried to explain to them that we weren't trying to do anything nefarious and were TOLD to go there they got even more hostile and told us that we were to go NOWHERE and that we would be escorted as a group (the whopping 100ft) when they were ready.

Then of course I had my disturbing interaction w/ Eddie the ice cream vendor. I know that later on in the evening everyone else thought he was awesome but I was the first one to walk by him and got the full brunt of his attention and it scared me a bit to be honest. [... and I grew up in the NYC 'burbs so not much scares me about odd people!]

Nothing he did was overtly dangerous...but he definitely gave me a very strong stalker vibe. He was very in my face, plying his ice cream and then was interested in who we were and what we were doing (not a bad thing). I'm sure if I was standing in a group of people it wouldn't have felt as disturbing...but one on one he had a very strong personality and came off fairly stalkerish once he asked me for my email address. About 80% of my interaction w/ him was by myself and the remainder my friend had walked up for...she got the same stalker vibe from him that I did.

I did ask one of the CMs at the entrance of TSM if he thought we were all a bunch of freaks. :upsidedow He said not at all... and that they had a group a few weeks prior that drank a bit on the heavy side and then rode TSM a lot. His final comment was that the spinning of the ride coupled w/ the alcohol wasn't a pretty combination...and left it at that! :crazy2:

...None of the above diminished the awesomeness of the evening. It just wasn't the level of Disney service that we were accustomed to!

Rex, if you didn't have the potato peeler in one hand and the masher in the other, I'm sure he wouldn't have reacted that way. ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

At one point, we asked if we could go over to take pictures of Mr Potato Head and the gal told us that he was on. I said that was ok...we just wanted pictures. So we (there were 4 of us) went over to take some Flattie pics and Mr Potato Head came to life and scared the bejeezus out of us!

The CM's outside of TSM weren't the nicest bunch in the group...but the guys inside TSM were awesome! They were joking right along with us! :)

it wasn't a special occasion, I always carry that stuff along with me in case I am attacked or there is a 24 hour potato famine.

ug... I just wanted to see up close. and that he was on, and I missed it.

Maybe you should stop putting weapons in your pockets! :rotfl2:

Too true! Disneyland Paris is full of 'jobsworths'!! Made me miss the Magic of Florida that much more
