TSM during EMH?

We'll be at DS during the morning of July 19 and want to ride TSM. We can't do FP+ (free tickets, but can't link them to MDE ahead of time), so will have to just walk on. Plus, we have to go to Guest Relations to pick up those free tickets first, so we may not make it through the gates right at 8:00 am.

Does anyone have experience with the wait times during EMH? Do we need to bowl over young children and old women in an attempt to get there before it's a 4-hour wait? :)

Any strategies on which path to take to get there quickly and avoid the gawkers clogging the main routes?

Morning or evening EMH?

We were there for evening EMH recently and didn't have to wait over 10 minutes to ride. No running or bowling over required.

During a non-EMH night, the wait was around 20 minutes at 8 pm and a walkon just before 10 pm.

But beware, the sign out front never showed less than a 50 minute wait.

1. Guest Relations outside the park will be open about 7:30AM.
You can also trade your tickets at DTD Guest Relations any time before the day you are at DHS.

2. Many guests who arrive early just walk right on (somebody has to be the earliest riders.

3. No need to run. Just be early.

4. No real "secrets." There are two pathways (MOST of the route is SHARED by both of them.)

Below are two different ANGLES of the same thing.

The "difference" between the shown routes below is near the giant Hat... a few STAIRS are involved in one of the routes.

Thanks. It's a morning EMH. Unfortunately, DH doesn't fly in until almost midnight the night before, and the tickets are under his name. So we'll just have to be in line at Guest Relations early that morning! That'll be fun, trying to get the teenagers up and out the door by 7:00 am ... ;)

I had a co-worker recently telling me about her trip to Disney World. They seemed to be pretty good planners and tried to mazimize their time the best they could.

She was very excited to tell me about her experience riding Midway Mania without a Fast Pass. The got up really early, got to the gates about 45 minutes before they opened and waited in a pretty large crowd. Then they hurried as fast as they could to the ride and the wait was *only* 15 minutes. By the time they got off the line was almost an hour long. There were people all over the place.

I didn't have the heart to tell her that her true wait time was over an hour. 45 mins at the gate plus whatever time it took to hurry to the attraction plus 15 mins in line.

I rode the same ride 4 times in about the same time period late at night and didn't have to deal with the crowds.

There is a major difference between waiting 45 minutes for a park to open
and then riding after 15 minutes wait...
than being INSIDE an open park and waiting in line for an hour.

Thanks. Those with an early morning strategy makes my evening strategy work that much better.
