This is my official start to Glo-Con!! I am off today (woohoo!) so after a haircut, picking up my Play-4 Days pass at AAA, and some last minute travel-size buying, I rush home, throw everything I need into my duffle bags and I head down the road to Orlando.

NancyIL had a room from Priceline.com that she was not planning to use and was basically going to waste. It was already paid for and everything, so she offered to me so I can get a very early start on Friday and be with the group when they head out to MGM. So I pack the car (aka sneak out so my neighbor doesn't see me...long story  ) check the fluids of my car, and I head to my local Eckerds (the store I work at) to pick up some drinks on the way and some munchies when I get to the hotel.

...and on the road I went. It was smooooth sailing to Orlando, traffic was not bad! I ended up taking the wrong toll road (was supposed to take the Beeline) so instead of ending up on the north side of the airport, I ended up on the south side of the airport. Hey, no big deal..I am here, just get to the north end of the airport and find my hotel. So I got a lovely tour of Orlando International Airport ( ), and I found my hotel...The Marriott Rennaissance, Orlando International. (very impressive)

Here is the view from my window.

Now this thing here..I had no idea what it was.

Until I started fiddling with the knob and found out that it is a volume control for the TV. Yes folks, you can do your business in the bathroom (clean up, shower, use the bathroom, etc..) and still here what's is on the television. Too cool!!

I felt like one of the Clampett's here..this place is waaay above my league and I got that feeling of being looked down upon by some of the hotel people there. It's only for one night, though, so I can deal with feeling like a second-class citizen for a good night's rest. That rest almost didn't happen...every other commercial was advertising Disney so each time I would see one I would get all excitied and and say "YAY! I'm going there tomorrow!". I finally fell asleep around midnight after calling PandyPaws (Donna) a couple times and checking in with her.

Must get a good night's sleep though...tomorrow is the official start to Glo-Con and a day (well, 3/4 of a day) at MGM! :D :D :D

LOL, James, I got that circular tour of MCO once also. Sounds like you are off to a good start. Nice of Nancy. :)

LOL...I bet you loved that volume control knob....you probably sat in the bathroom most of the night so that you could play with it. LOL...j/k

That was very nice of Ms Nancy!! :)

So far ymdarling James, you will be allowed to live.....lol...you just be careful of them there apples you talk about....

But I want to hear the long story about your neighbor!!!!

Thanks for posting!

Too cool...my kids would've been beating each other up to hang out in the bathroom!

Funny story about the bathroom. I hadn't been to McDonald's in a while before vacation. When I got to the hotel, it was mid-afternoon, I didn't have anything to eat all day, and I was starving! All around me were Chili's, TGI Fridays, Denny's..I wanted fast food to eat in my room (something cheap to save $$). I drive up whatever road I was staying on and I find a McDonald's. I get a double-quarter pounder value meal and head back to the room. Now picture this 6'6" guy, walking through this posh hotel carrying McDonald's! Hey, i'm ghetto like that! :) So I get in my room and chow down. 30 minutes later, my stomach is tore up from the grease!! I spend some quality time in the bathroom using that TV control knob in the bathroom so I can continue watching some sitcom!!
..what a way to start vacation, eh? Indigestion. ugh!!!
