I stupidly cancelled my reservation for the last night of my trip, thinking that we had something else, but alas I was wrong, and now we have no ressie.
AND everything for TS is booked in MGM fot that night.
Not good.
So I was wondering...
I have heard there is a walkway from MGM to the Yacht and Beach Club resort areas- is this only for guests staying there, or can anyone use it. Also, how long does it take to get from MGM to the resort area on foot, (or by boat if there is one available)
Thanks

Yes there is a boat service and a walkway, quite a long walk, boats run about 15/20 minutes apart.

I would try for Brown and Derby -- MGM, Yachtsman(YC), Spoodles(BW), Yacht Gålley(?)(at YC), or Cape May Fåre

There is a walkway from MGM that goes by the Boardwalk area, then the Swan and Dolphin, and the Yacht and Beach Club. You can continue to Epcot too. Anyone is free to use the walkway. There's also a boat that runs from MGM to Epcot, with stops at S&D, Y&BC and BW that you can take.

I'd actually suggest going to BW, if you want to walk. It's closer to MGM than Y&BC and there are a few restaurants there, including Flying Fish, Spoodles, ESPN Zone and the Big River Brewing Co., although the latter is going through some renovations at this point. There are restaurants at the S&D too. Y&BC has the Yachtsman's Steak House and the Cape May Cafe, which is a character "clambake" buffet.

thanks for the help on this-
I forgot to mention that we are on the DDP- I don't think we can use our TS credits at restaurants in the Swan & Dolphin.
We already have ADR for Yacht Club Galley and we are having lunch at ESPN on this day, (Monday) -
I guess we have pretty much tapped this area out- so funny: I have never eaten at any of these restaurants before. I checked on the Brown Derby, all they had was 3:30pm!
I told the reservationist- no offense, but that's LUNCH in most parts of the world. (unless you're under 2 or over 90)
so anyway- before I even call reservations- how much of a walk are we looking at, (or boat ride)- thanks

If you have park hoppers and are willing to walk (or boat) as far as the Beach Club, walk another 10 minutes and eat in Epcot. :)

no park hoppers
Honestly, I'd either eat at my hotel or grab something counter-service. But if you have to eat a table-service meal for the dining plan and can't eat in your hotel or MGM, I suppose I'd try the Cape May clam bake. It isn't the best meal in the world, but it isn't the worst. :)

It does seem like a lot of traveling around for a meal, though.

Keep trying MGM, even when you get there. Something might open up. :)

Good luck!!

We take the walk to MGM from the Epcot resort area (specifically the Swan) all the time. At our stroll, it's about 15-20 minutes. The boat from MGM to the Swan/Dolphin (the first stop) is 7-8 minutes. In my opinion, it's easier to get off there and walk to either the Yacht Club or the Boardwalk. If you want casual (no ADR), there's Beach and Cream at the Beach Club or Hurrican Hannah's outside the pool area, the pizza take out window and the hot dog kiosk at the Boardwalk, and the Dolphin Fountain (I think the name changed?) at the Dolphin. There's also Picabo's buffeteria at the Dolphin. Table service would be Cape May Buffet (ADR) or the Big River Grille. I didn't mention ESPN or Yacht Club Galley because you are already planning on eating there.

Personally, though, I'd take the 3:30 late lunch seating at the Brown Derby and then have a snack later on for dinner. Have you tried the Hollywood and Vine buffet?

If your going to do a 2 TS credit meal at Brown Derby, I'd consider doing the Yachtsman Steakhouse instead. We much preferred it to the Brown Derby and you might get a better dinner time.

I second this suggestion. I myself enjoy the walk, but if you do decide to go by boat, getting off at the first stop (S/D) and walking to either BW or YC/BC from there will be faster than staying on the boat to those stops.

Did you check Spoodles, its only 1TS on the dining plan, on the boardwalk, doesn't require a hopper.

I agree I would do the Yachtsman if using 2TS

I vote for Spoodles... only a little boat ride to the BW - nice view..
1 TS - good food.
