TS for drinks only.

Has anyone ever gone to the fancier TS restaurants (cali grill, Citricos, Narcosses) just for drink and to watch the fireworks?
Is this frowned upon?

Also, Does Mintzers lounge in the Grand Floridian offer the same specialty drinks as Citricos? I tried looking on Allears, but I can't seem to find any info on the lounges.

VERY frowned upon. In all likelihood a manager will ask you to sit at the bar instead. That said, my DH and I have sat at the CG bar and had a couple of post dinner cocktails during the fireworks, and no one batted an eyelash. But to take a table? NO WAY!

FYI--There are only a few tables at Citrico's where you have a limited firworks view, not a palce to go for fireworks.

Mizners doesn't offer a fireworks view either.

Why not just plan on having dinner at one of the restaurants?

Yes, we are planning on having dinner at all of those restaurants actually. But DH and I saw some drinks on the menu that we would like to try throughout the week. Since we are staying at the GF, it would be simple for us to walk over to the lounge or restaurant for a drink before we retire to our room. I did not know that citricos had a bar area and I also did not know if Mintzers lounge offered the same drinks as Citricos. We have no problem sitting at the bar area.

I am quite sure that Mizner's would be happy to accomodate by getting a specialty cocktail from Citrico's for you. FYI, Citrico's is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

If a place has a view of the fireworks, they even frown upon (and usually won't seat you) if you're ordering just desserts and drinks. So yes, def no on the drinks.

however, if they have a bar, you can order drinks, appetizers, desserts, etc there and still get the view without taking a table =)
