TS exchange for CS+Snack

Not necessarily that the crowds will be larger than normal (especially given the economy), but because the Free Dining promotion is relatively successful in enticing Guests who would have stayed off-site, to stay on-site instead. So you have about the same number of Guests from year to year at that time, but more of them are now eating in the Disney restaurants.

yes, it clearly says it here, on an *unofficial* disney site... and it clearly omits any reference to deluxe on mousesavers another *unofficial* site... and i've been unable to find anything on the official site...

Whatever! It makes no sense to offer it to Dining plan and not Deluxe Dining plan.

But I'll be there in less then 2 weeks so I'll know for sure then!:cool1:

Why does disney release this offer? Is it because all the table service reservations are full due to free DP? Does this mean the crowds will be bigger than normal for that time period. I always liked going in September because of the smaller crowds.

During the rest of the year not everyone staying in disney resorts are on the dining plan. With free dining being offered for resort guests, there will be many many many more resort guests with dining, therefore tons of ADRs and booked solid table service restaurants. The crowds really aren't bad! I've went late August/early September the last 2 years and I think the longest wait we saw both years was 75 mins. for Soarin. Everything else was 15-30 mins

Okay, maybe I'm just really tired so if this is stupid let's just go with fatigue ;)

We'll be there beginning 9/27. So, if we wanted to do this, we'd need to trade it in that day? At the concierge desk?

Also, can I just trade in two of the kids TS or does it have to be equal amounts from us all?

And, last, a PP said something about their kid eating a bit off Mom's plate at a TS. Can you do this? I thought my kids always had to order; that they couldn't not order and eat some of my food?

Any and all advice appreciated!

You trade AT the counter service when you order. You tell the CM you would like to use a TS instead of a CS credit.

If you order ONE kids CS you can trade ONE TS credit for it. You do HAVE to order the kids CS meal. Same thing for an adult credit - adult CS traded for adult TS.

And, last, a PP said something about their kid eating a bit off Mom's plate at a TS. Can you do this? I thought my kids always had to order; that they couldn't not order and eat some of my food?

We have never had a problem sharing. I will make a "Stink" if they tell me my 7 year old can not share on my plate with me. I will not be sharing to pay OOP or to stretch my credits - I will just be sharing as he LOVES steak, but he only eats the really tender steak.

Basically they better not charge me a TS credit if we do not order a TS credit whether it is for an adult OR a child.

I actually think this is going to be great for our trip. We've got 5 ADR's but 6 TS credits - Dd and D neice would rather be on the move instead of sitting for an hour so this gives us flexibility and we go through more snack credits than any thing else. :confused3 I guess it's because Dd just loves Chocolate covered Mickeys:laughing:

Could you do it w/ the DDDP?
Details on snack cert.
Details on the free mesh bag.

Thanks!

The more I think about it the more I think it will include the DxDDP.

1. They are wanting to open up TS restaurants so this would help b/c honestly most people on the delx are trying to max their saving by doing only TS.

2. Disney would still be coming out ahead most of the time even more so on the delx trade of the TS b/c it includes the App. so say about 12.00 for cs meal plus 8.00 for snacks and that is probably high amount = 20.00 most TS meal will be more than that when you include the app, meal, drink and dessert

This will be nice, we are doing DeluxeDDP but will be at a waterpark one day and will get a few CS for breakfasts. I don't think I could do 30 sit downs, but I can certainly do extra snacks. Goofys' here I come.... I cant wait to have others post the bag pics.

What about to part that says, "same to, same place" That sounds like to me you have to get your 2 snacks, at the same time with your cs meal that already includes a snack. Hopefully thats not right!:confused3

They just mean that each certificate you turn in must be turned in for two things at that location. So if you wanna use one for the french toast loaf at MK Bakery you must take a second item with that at the MK Bakery that is a snack item

Also a cm at ressies did confirm this will be happening but stupid me I forgot to ask her about the DXDDP

From August 24 thru September 27, guests on either the Disney Dining Plan or Deluxe Dining Plan can redeem a Table Service entitlement at a Quick (counter) Service location. In addition to the Quick (counter) Service meal, a certificate will then be issued entitling the bearer to:
• Two Snacks to be redeemed at the same time at the same location. This certificate is valid at participationg Quick Serve, merchandise or outdoor food venues
• OR the certificate can be redeemed for a sling mesh bag. The bag will be available at the merchandise locations which are listed on the certificate (designs may vary)

Mesh bag? What's that about?
We're on the dining plan and will be there on these dates. I suppose it can be better explained to us when we get there. anyone know anymore details about this?

They've done stuff like this in past years -- too many people on FD and too few TS places to eat.

I can't believe we do not have the pic of the bag yet!!!!????

They say you can redeem it at one of the stores. Maybe someone can go to one of the stores for us and ask what bags are being offered and take a pick of it for us.

Okay, if it's the one I'm hoping... :) It's about twelve inches in diameter, with a vinyl-lined zipper compartment at/as the bottom, about eighteen inches high with one side solid canvas (or canvas-type) fabric and the other side mesh with about 1/4" spaces; a sliding drawstring closure, and a sling-type strap about two inches wide, with a hook at the bottom connection; and a small zipped pocket on the solid fabric side.
