If I have a TS credit left, but can't get into a TS restaurant, can I use it for a quick service meal?

I believe so, as well as you can use one cs for 3 snacks (only at places that sell both snacks and quick service meals, like QS in hotels and such)

Daughter used some CS Credits at the candy store in MK, 1 of the 3 Snacks had to be a drink. That and under $4 were the only restrictions.

I'm going to move this to our dining plan board in case the folks over there have additional input.

It's not necessarily three snacks for a CS. This past May I was with a friend at CSR. She had to leave the day before me and on her last day she tried at Starring Rolls in DS to exchange CS for snacks and was told she had to do at our resort. We went back to CSR so she could catch the DME bus and at both guest services and also at Cafe Rix itself we were told that it would be a one for one trade. All she got for her three CS meals were three candy bars.

I was leaving the next day so made a point of using a CS meal for breakfast the next morning, then went to the BW Bakery the next afternoon to get two CS meals to take to the airport with me.

As far as TS to CS meals, during free dining WDW usually has a deal where you can trade a TS for a CS, plus an extra (two snacks, a lanyard with two pins, or a mesh back pack--it differs year to year as to what the extra is). During nonfree dining times some people have said they'd had success asking the resort guest services to change their CS to TS credits. I don't know what if anything you get extra though. Some people have said it's a one to one switch.

Just a heads-up...I suggest you always ask before attempting to do this...it is not a set policy that allows these trades. The actual plan brochure does not suggest this is allowed...and while they are flexible during Free Dining, it's not so easy the rest of the year. People have reported more flexibility at the resort counter service places than the parks.

We have been in line behind people who were being turned down on these kinds of trades. This always happened in parks (Cosmic Rays, Sunshine Seasons & Main STreet Bakery were 3 places I recall seeing it happen...in January & May)...my recollection is the people were told something along the lines of "the computer won't let us run your table credit here" or "that only works during free dining" which leads me to believe there must be something in the system that usually kicks these transactions back out.

Maybe a manager can over-ride in those cases? We always got motioned over to a different line while they tried to hash out what was going to happen so I don't know if the people eventually got the trade or not. Well, I know the guy at Sunshine Seasons stomped off & left two full trays of food on the rail there by the cash register, so I assume he did not talk them into it.

At any rate, unless you're there during free dining, I would not assume that I could automatically get exceptions made...ask nice, maybe you'll get some pixie dust.:wizard:
