Trying to make last minute ressies in Jan or Feb..

I know it is probably a long shot, but we just got a hankerin' to come down, we just love the Fort so much! Anyways, as you can imagine, it is not easy to find a 4 or 5 day block of open sites on this short of notice. I would think this would be the slow time of year, but I could be wrong. So if anyone is planning to cancel or change dates please drop me a line. I kind of need preferred or premium due to the size of our rig. Or if anyone knows how I can search open dates instead of having to continually put different request dates into the booking system, I would appreciate the advice. Thanks again!

You might try the time honored (LOL) trick of putting in at least a week+ that includes the dates you want, and then you can drop the extra days later. No idea why that works, but it very often does.

I actually tried that, I even put in like the whole month of January, but I'm not sure if I am stroking the mouse just right or not (pun intended)! Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately you can't coordinate others cancellations to you making or getting their dates. For some reason that just doesn't work and you can't transfer ressies between registered guests. The only thing you can do is to call each day and keep trying.

Instead of a whole month try like 10 days starting on a Tue or Wed and working from there. IMHO a whole month is a hard thing to get late.

I lucked up a couple of weeks ago on line and got a Full for the last week in January. I really want to add a day to my reservation so I have been calling every day to try to add it. They keep telling me there is a Premium available for the whole time, but I am not willing to pay the extra. On line, there is no availability for any level during that time, yet on the CM on the phone said there is availability for Premium. Try calling...you never know!

Thanks for the input everyone. It sounds like I need to just call repeatedly until something comes open for us. I will start that process in the morning. You guys rock! I was honestly expecting to hear a few "good lucks!" But instead I got a lot of encouraging advice. Even if it doesn't work out, I know I am on the right track with y'alls advice!

We use distrips.net. Seems like they must call every few minutes to get or change reservations for their customers.
