Just spent 10 days at POP--loved it despite the heat. We typically go to Disney every 3 or 4 years, and I was sad to come home. Was talking to my single aunt (and Godmother--we're very close-only 10 years age difference and we get along great)--anyway, she was saying that she watched a video of other nieces/nephews trip to Disney last November--loved all the Christmas stuff and would like to go to Disney one year at Christmas time. I told her that I'd love to go back anytime!! So, I started looking up some info. Ended up calling Disney--found out I have a pin for free dining at that time (not valid until July 13, though), and really, with airfare, hotel (POP), tickets, and dining (QS plan), it would be about $750 each for 5 nights. Talked to my wonderful DH, he said, "Bye, Bye!" (as in "Go for it!!"), and now I just have to talk to my principal to see if she'd be okay with me taking 3 days off for fun! I teach, and don't miss much time each year--in fact, I always end up losing about 8 days every year since I've already banked the maximum amount of sick time allowed (40 days). So, I'll talk with her tomorrow, and I'll let you know if I book it!! Just had to share my excitement with others who could relate! Thanks for reading!:yay:

Throwing pixie dust your way!!! I wish I could do something like that, but I swear none of my friends ever want to go away for a "girls weekend" or anything (and a couple of them hold APs).

Crossing my fingers that it's okay with your principal.

My principal said it's fine, as long as I don't decide to move there. I told her that I want to work at Disney someday, but I don't think it will ever happen! She emailed me back in caps "IT BETTER NOT HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON!"---then said it wasn't a threat, just yelling a bit! She's pretty cool--and she knows I'm not a loafer! I'll make sure there are good plans for the sub and I'm sure I'll make up for it in other ways too! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO---I'll be calling Disney soon and making a reservation! I am so excited! To go from an "every 3 or 4 years" visitor to twice in one year---that's pretty exciting! Thanks for sharing in my happiness!
