Is it possible to book a stay at the various DVC properties-you know, the way you would any of the resorts?

I'm a little perplexed by the thought of renting or buying points-should I have posted this on the Resorts Board?

Thank you.

Yes, you can book them through Disney but the rates are high. I would suggest going to the rent/trade board and rent the needed points to cover your stay. The going rate is $10 per point which will get you a room at less than 1/2 of Disney's rack rate on Sunday-Thursday nights. Renting from members on Friday and Saturday nights do not offer any advantages because the number of points needed to get those points are so high you can do as well through Disney.

Yes, non-members can stay at the DVC resorts. You can either rent points from a member on the rental board or book directly thru Disney's CRO. It is less expensive to rent points, but one gived up daily hoousekeeping (maid service) by doing so. We (and most members) actually prefer not having the dsaily housekeeping, but many non-members are worried about the lack of it.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your responses and welcome!

I'm not concerned about daily housekeeping-but will have to take a deep breath before discovering the wonderful world of point renting. It seems a little strange-hinging on trust with people whom you don't know...

well, anyway, thanks. :)

If you need any help figuring out how many points you need and how to get the points feel free to email me at patty@bradley.edu and I will be happy to help. I will be checking my email tomorrow but after that I will be out of town for 5 days and will not have access to email.

Thank you workingmom-goodness you folks are nice! But it looks like I just missed you...I'm sure to manage, however...I hope!:D

Depending on the days you will be staying, DVC can be quite a savings. This is especially true for weekdays but not at all true for weekends alone. The risks are minimal and the savings can make them definitely worthwile. There is a points calculator on this site at Points Calculator which might help you.
