Trying for popular dates and places

Hi everyone!

I am brand new to the idea of renting DVC points, and I need a quick lesson.

I would love to get a (unit type removed) villa at (resort removed) for one night in (date removed). The problem is that it is (specific travel period removed), so I know it is a very popular time. Also, the more I read, the more I learn that (resort removed) is a very popular spot.

The combination of a busy time and a popular spot makes me think that I might be out of luck.

So, would it be silly of me to try and rent the points for such a popular time and place? Will I get laughed at?

Any advice would be much appreciated. TIA!

It may or may not be current, but if there is an availability board here. If that shows (resort removed) booked for your trip, then its probably not worth asking.
(That board is only reports of no available rooms in that resort for a category. If someone just booked the last available room that board may still show available.)

If your talking official (travel time frame removed), then that may be very difficult. On the other hand, (month removed) is not always ideal swimming weather, so there may be some hope.

Thank you! I looked at that board, but there isn't anything reported for (month removed). I guess that's good?

I would be looking for (date removed) for one night. I think (holiday period removed) next year?
