I am so sorry to start a new thread, but I have looked back on the budget board at least 10 pages, and tried a search with no success! I know at one point, everyone was talking about getting rid of AT&T/Verizon etc and going to Straight Talk/Trac Phone etc. There was a trusted ebay seller that lots of people were talking about to buy great newer model phones. And now of course, I need that info, and I cant find where I saved it! Anyone know what Im thinking of? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :) :) :)

I used Gazelle Store. Someone here recommended them and I have to say, I was VERY impressed! The phone was supposed to be a "Very Good" phone rather than new or near mint and I couldn't find ONE THING wrong with it. It was mint in my eyes. I paid about $300 less than face value of the phone I bought. I would 100% buy from them again. And the great part was I bought when there was 4x's eBay Bucks. And I used churned gift cards. I think my net cost for a $700 phone was $300.

I used Pangea deals. Their ratings are actually higher than the Gazelle store. I bought a 6 in October to use on Straight Talk. The phone was in mint condition.

I have bought several iphones and a couple of ipads from gazelle on their ebay site.

I agree the *very good* condition phones arrive in *like new* condition.

I will only buy [from them] a phone or tablet that is in *very good* condition.

I originally chose to buy from them because they have a good return policy.

I have used both Swappa and Gazelle and had good luck. I would say that Gazelle might be better because you get like a 30 day guarantee. On Gazelle, the iPhone I bought was listed as "fair" condition, but when I received it, I saw no damage or problems at all. It works great and I would have no problem using their service in the future.

In regards to the unlocked part for Straight Talk, I cannot really say for sure, but would like to know. Somebody told me you have to have an AT&T Gophone for 6 months, then they will unlock it for you. I have an AT&T phone that I have had since like December... might have been late November I am not quite sure which. However, I have had AT&T service for longer than 6 months. I just took my Gophone sim out of my old phone and stuck it in my new phone. I was wondering if my previous "GoPhone street cred" for lack of a better term would count as my 6 months or if it was the actual device had to be in paid use for 6 months.

I really have no problem with AT&T service, I just thought it would be cool to get all that extra data that you get with Straight Talk.

AT&T locked phones absolutely work on Straight Talk.

If you have any questions about bringing a phone to Straight Talk, go to the ST forums on howardforums. Last May I put 3 iPhones on Tracfone and the folks on the howard Tracfone forums were extremely helpful.

I know at first on Tracfone you could only bring in Verizon phones, but that has been changing. I don't know about ST.

I bought one iPhone 4S from a big cell phone seller on eBay but I don't know the name. DD14 got that one and it works wonderfully. I got my 4S from an individual on eBay and had to end up working with her to get it off the Cloud and I've also had the battery replaced, but it works fine. Look for a big seller with lots of good feedback.
