I initially booked our trip before the free dining, just put a hold with my debit card as the downpayment ($200). When free dining came out, I asked them to refund that $200 back because I would like to put the entire amount on my Disney Chase...they said no problem. That was May 2nd...no refund.

My total is due in 2 days so I call today since the website has said "we can not access your details at this time" for over 6 weeks. The rep is not sure so she calls accounting, they give her the line of...
"The refund has been given...give 1 to 2 billing cycles for it to show up"
I question that it has already been 3 billing cycles and no refund...my balance is still showing both deposits credited...so then she tells me to OVERPAY my balance by $400.00 and that, too will be recredited 'eventually'....huh? Who overpays their balance?

I was just calling to confirm that the original $200 was refunded (which it has not) and reconfirm the actual final payment due. So, now, once I explain all this over again to her, she goes back to accounting and comes back and says, they now say give them 7 days to figure out where my original refund went...I say that is fine and ask for an extension...she says it will be noted in my file and I can pay in full when they get this straightened out...

A little fearful my deposit and great free dining deal will evaporate b/c she said it will not show on "My Disney Experience"...why do I feel this will be a bumpy road to completion..anyone else have payment issues that resolved slowly?

I waited on a refund for a good 10 weeks just this year. I called back and it was pretty much "oops, forgot to push the button to send it back to the bank". it showed up about 4 days later.

Hope it gets resolved for you...how frustrating!

You'll still get emails about being past due. If you get close to your 30 marker I'd call and pay it to be safe and either cut the loss of $200 on the DV or make the overpayment as suggested. I've seen tons of people overpay and get a refund.... But I'd give them the 7 days first. I imagine you'll see your refund before the end of them.

Oh, and I was trying to get the original deposit off bc I had a problem charging a cruise a few years ago, Disney said unless the entire amount was charged on the Chase card that I could not get 0%...the rep today said that you could charge any amount on Disney chase and get the 0%...that does not sound right..anyone know?

Any amount you charge on your Disney visa you will get the 0%. 90% of the CM's don't have a clue.

It was Chase who told me 100% had to be on the card...so many inconsistencies! I put deposit on another card and 90% on Chase for that cruise and was charged interest, I had to go through hoops to get them to give back interest charges.

I've had very slow refunds in the past, but usually they eventually show up. One time I waited a particularly long time, so I called to inquire and they said they would investigate. A few days later I got refunded TWICE! I was tempted to not even tell them they made a mistake! :lmao:

I can easily understand your impulsive proclivity! :thumbsup2 it is just a bit inept to keep calling on the same refund only to be toldthe same answer but no different results...

That's really strange. I never get charged interest when using my DV, and I have booked packages, and cruises using multiple cards. I pay it off every month, but I always look at the interest rate on my statement and it's always 0%.

This has always been my understanding in order to get the 6 months no interest, when we've booked cruises with DCL on board as well as on the phone. We always use our Disney Visa, so we've never tested it.
However now that I think about it the deposit shows up first as a separate line item. Then when the balance is due, say a year later it is a new line item on the CC statement & then a new 6 month clock starts. Unless they are linked somehow in the Chase system. :confused3
