Trouble w/a DCL recommended jeweler in St Tomas

We were on the 9/6/03 Magic, and purchased a ring from a DCL recommended jeweler in St. Thomas. The stone in the ring fell out of the setting. The jeweler was very good about responding and replacing the stone for a much lower price than if we bought it new. However, the new stone has a big scratch in it. The jeweler is not responding to numerous phone calls now. The DCL shopping cast member said to contact him if there were any problems, but we can't find his contact info. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Call the DCL number and ask to talk to someone regarding problems with shopping in a DCL recommended store. They have to help. That is why they recommend these stores.

I called them & they gave me the 800 # for St. Thomas tourism. I may try again to see what a different cast member has to say. Thanks.

Would you please tell us the store you had problems with just so the rest of us have a head's up if we decide to buy anything from that store. I would think Disney has to help you since they recommended the store, if it wasn't recommended you might of not shopped there. Kathy

It was Cardow Jewelers in Charlotte Amile. They have a great reputation, good prices and selection. Customer service/follow up seem to be lacking, however.

Thank you for sharing that info. I just checked and they have a web site with contact information. I'd keep hounding DCL, Cardow and St. Thomas tourism until you get results. I even wouldn't be afraid to inform them that it is now known which store is not standing behind their product. Yes, they did repair the piece but the repair wasn't done correctly and you want the piece of jewelry properly repaired. Kathy
