I have a tub mat to keep from slipping in the shower. The problem I have is that it's gone from white to a rusty color. I've tried cleaning it in the washer with detergent and vinegar but it's still discolored. Any ideas how to clean it? I'd hate to have to buy a new one b/c this one looks so nasty.

I had the same problem. I soaked it in the tub with bleach and scrubbed it in between the little suction cups, but could never bet it back to normal. I had to buy a new one. Good luck

I put mine in the washing machine.

Add detergent w/ bleach (Tide usually) and then add 1/2 cup of Cascade dishwashing soap. Yup, the stuff you use in your dishwasher. It does amazing work on stains like that and isalso PERFECT for kids' baseball and soccer uniforms with field mud that doesn't always come out.:thumbsup2

If this doesn't work, Wal Mart has fun mats that aren't too pricey.

Do you use the liquid Cascade or the powder?

Try spraying it with "The Works". It is great at getting rust stains out.
