Trouble choosing

We are currently in a kidani one bedroom with hubs, MIL, ds9, dd5 and dd2 for Dec 20-23. However, we are considering moving to POR (hubby and I have stayed before but not the kids). My mother in law has only ever stayed in the Poly in the 80s. We are going to fill the one bedroom to capacity and I really rather have a two bedroom or two rooms, but we are not members so budget is a factor. We could do a bunkbed and reg room at either WL or DAKL OR we can do a princess room and a plantation room at POR....... Too many options at which I love both. DAKL/WL have such great rec options. POR we would do the pirates cruise.

I would definitely do two rooms with your family configuration. You will be on top of each other in the 1-bedroom. I would check out recent posts on WL regarding the construction. If it doesn't sound too bad to you, WL would be my first choice for that travel period as it will offer you the best transportation options to MK. AKL will get you close to AK. POR is gorgeous and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay there. Just know, bus transportation can take longer over the holiday season due to the excessive traffic at the resort.

Two rooms for sure. Having MIL and an extra room can be wonderful if you need a break from on of the kids. It gives them an option too. More room to spread out and enjoy family time together.

By 'plantation room' do you mean a standard room in one of the mansions as opposed to Alligator bayou?

If so,
You do realize that if you do a Royal Room, you will not be in the same building as a non royal room. RR are all located in oak manor or in parterre place and there are no non royal rooms in either of those buildings. You can request a mansion room in Magnolia Terrace or Acadia House, but you could end up with an AB room and a RR room at opposite ends of a huge resort.

I would be inclined to do either WL or AKL. At least you would all be in the same building with your two rooms. Construction bothers me, so I would stay in AKL, but, if the construction won't trouble you, WL is closer to the MK.
