Tron roller coaster @MK?

Would the entire show building fit in the grassy area on the other side of the tracks? If so, they can have the Tron queue where the speedway is now (and make the building fit with Tomorrowland without interfering with Fantasyland).

The queue could then go through a tunnel under the tracks to get to the show building.

What I don't know is if the show building behind the tracks allows them to hide the show building from the rest of the park, and from the passengers on the train.

I haven't check in great detail but I think the true show building could fit in the grassy area, but not sure about the show building plus the open air area part of the ride - so i think if they adjusted things a little bit so that part was on one side of the train tracks and the rest on the other side and a tunnel or something for the train to go through it could fit - but I think it would be tough for it to fit with zero adjustments to what is in Shanghai

Per insider Martin at WDWMagic.com - Tron Light Cycle coaster will NOT repeat will NOT replace Speedway. How about it going BEHIND speedway. Yup, with some love to speedway as well that has not been defined.

This is going to be a very, very interesting D23 announcement day... :D

I very much doubt it. With the quantity of rumors floating around, I think it will be a disappointing day for most who buy in to how much Disney is actually going to announce...

The "box" building will fit in the grassy area with the "domed" building on this side of the tracks. The dome is open air and could potentially handle the train tracks going through it. Not sure they'd want that visually but they have to work with the train. Placing it there also allows for the existing Tron plaza to be built as well.

The area can't be compared as square footage as some I've seen out there. It will not fit within the train tracks without great modification. "Reports" are when they built the first one they built 2 and one is in storage. This means it can not be flipped as the track would be set. It's shape can't go from rectangle to square.

Saw on twitter, much of what I'm trying to say ...
All that curly stuff that goes under People Mover is the Tron Plaza.

Well, they could always have the train go through a tunnel like they do in Adventureland so you can't see the Pirate's show building

The picture shown is roughly what I was thinking but still think there would need to be some adjustment to the track so it can fit from going from the "dome" area to the "show building" area - but maybe not as hard in real life as it would be in my mind

True, theoretically they can old off one maybe two more rides for the next d23 in 2019 for the 50th anniversary

But but I can see the pirates show building from the train

I would definitely be sorry to see the Tomorrowland Speedway from going away. I understand why they would want to but I rode this as a child and now our children are riding it. It always brings back great memories when I ride it.

You are in the miniority, many see it as an eyesoarr the theming doesnt fit in with tomorroeland at all, and its bad for the environment with those gas guzzlers

Two different insiders that I have alot of faith in have stated the following:

martin at WDWmagic.com - he has seen 12 WDW ride announcements - but not sure how many will actually be released.
Redsox at WDWMagic.com - we could have more ride announcements in this D23 than total rides in DHS right now.

So yeah, could be all smoke and mirrors, but I think it will be pretty big

I have also been following Martin for a couple years now, and he has been pretty spot on with his information. I really hope that the speedway re-theme addresses the air quality/smell issue associated with the speedway, I personally hate walking over there due to this, and wouldn't even consider actually riding it.

Not that I credit them much either but .......... it would fit, it would mean some water work, access over/under the tracks, some very creative blending. But that could work and save speedway, not that worth saving but if they do it completely over ...

This is why you have to be careful with any of these websites ... many of them want to be the one to "break" news and it's sometimes a decision based more on clicks than accuracy. One word "CONFIRMED" started an uproar and twitter war. His article states "seems certain" "fairly confident" ........... which is not confirmed. But what this misleading title did was exactly what they wanted and admitted ... click bait.

Well I think this tunnel would be much bigger but ... if it's true that the ride is built and in storage, no adjusting will be done to the track. It will have to be prepped to fit as it is.

Agreed and imagine ... it's only Monday. We have so much more disappointment to come.

Sponsorships will always be appreciated when it lowers the bottom line

All but dead part of Disney. They spend more energy on 3rd party; restaurants, coffee shops etc.

I think you are wrong here. I'm guessing they announce the trackless Mickey ride taking over for The Great Movie Ride. 2 or 3 in EPCOT, 1 in MK, maybe if this Tron thing pans out or they decide what to do with the dead space that is Stitch.

You really think they'd announce the mickey ride when dhs is still a total mess right now? They wont announce that untill at least toy story land is done, just too much stuff going on there, otherwise we agree on ride announcements

Most rumors indicate TGMR is closing this fall. If so, announcing this now makes sense. As I've typed before, either you close it now so it is open to help eat people when you really need it in 2020, or you wait until then and have even longer lines in the new lands. For the sake of their customers, I wish they would wait. But for what they are trying to do having a huge rebrand and everything else in DHS, I'm guessing they will want this ride, and probably need this ride, opened when SWE opens.

I don't see the issue of placing two coasters next to each other. It's not like they're identical experiences. They've also shown they're not afraid to plop e tickets next to each other, as they did in frontierland. As others have noted it would also provide them an opportunity to give space mountain a major fix

They can wait for toy story to open and maybe be able to open it with s

Major fix??? They gutted it in 2012, thats only 5 years ago, space mountain doesnt need a fix

It absolutely needs a major fix. They added braking all over the track to ease the structural wear and tear. It wasn't gutted in the last refurb at all, that was Disneyland

yeah until Disney themselves, through D23 or DPB confirms it, it will still be a rumor. I hope it's true that would be really cool

Nope. Shovels prove nothing but holes are being dug.

I only believe someone is pregnant if 1. the pregnant woman directly tells me she's pregnant and/or 2. I see the baby coming out. I have a similar viewpoint WRT Disney rumors.
