Would the entire show building fit in the grassy area on the other side of the tracks? If so, they can have the Tron queue where the speedway is now (and make the building fit with Tomorrowland without interfering with Fantasyland).
The queue could then go through a tunnel under the tracks to get to the show building.
What I don't know is if the show building behind the tracks allows them to hide the show building from the rest of the park, and from the passengers on the train.
Per insider Martin at WDWMagic.com - Tron Light Cycle coaster will NOT repeat will NOT replace Speedway. How about it going BEHIND speedway. Yup, with some love to speedway as well that has not been defined.
This is going to be a very, very interesting D23 announcement day...![]()
The "box" building will fit in the grassy area with the "domed" building on this side of the tracks. The dome is open air and could potentially handle the train tracks going through it. Not sure they'd want that visually but they have to work with the train. Placing it there also allows for the existing Tron plaza to be built as well.
The area can't be compared as square footage as some I've seen out there. It will not fit within the train tracks without great modification. "Reports" are when they built the first one they built 2 and one is in storage. This means it can not be flipped as the track would be set. It's shape can't go from rectangle to square.
Saw on twitter, much of what I'm trying to say ...
All that curly stuff that goes under People Mover is the Tron Plaza.

True, theoretically they can old off one maybe two more rides for the next d23 in 2019 for the 50th anniversaryI very much doubt it. With the quantity of rumors floating around, I think it will be a disappointing day for most who buy in to how much Disney is actually going to announce...
But but I can see the pirates show building from the trainWell, they could always have the train go through a tunnel like they do in Adventureland so you can't see the Pirate's show building
The picture shown is roughly what I was thinking but still think there would need to be some adjustment to the track so it can fit from going from the "dome" area to the "show building" area - but maybe not as hard in real life as it would be in my mind
I would definitely be sorry to see the Tomorrowland Speedway from going away. I understand why they would want to but I rode this as a child and now our children are riding it. It always brings back great memories when I ride it.
Its 1 hour and 30 minutrs, tje disney studios is 2 hours longHow long is the parks panel? Does that indicate the amount of things that will be announced?

martin at WDWmagic.com - he has seen 12 WDW ride announcements - but not sure how many will actually be released.
Redsox at WDWMagic.com - we could have more ride announcements in this D23 than total rides in DHS right now.
So yeah, could be all smoke and mirrors, but I think it will be pretty big

Sponsorships will always be appreciated when it lowers the bottom line

You really think they'd announce the mickey ride when dhs is still a total mess right now? They wont announce that untill at least toy story land is done, just too much stuff going on there, otherwise we agree on ride announcementsI think you are wrong here. I'm guessing they announce the trackless Mickey ride taking over for The Great Movie Ride. 2 or 3 in EPCOT, 1 in MK, maybe if this Tron thing pans out or they decide what to do with the dead space that is Stitch.
Most rumors indicate TGMR is closing this fall. If so, announcing this now makes sense. As I've typed before, either you close it now so it is open to help eat people when you really need it in 2020, or you wait until then and have even longer lines in the new lands. For the sake of their customers, I wish they would wait. But for what they are trying to do having a huge rebrand and everything else in DHS, I'm guessing they will want this ride, and probably need this ride, opened when SWE opens. You really think they'd announce the mickey ride when dhs is still a total mess right now? They can wait for toy story to open and maybe be able to open it with sMost rumors indicate TGMR is closing this fall. If so, announcing this now makes sense. Major fix??? They gutted it in 2012, thats only 5 years ago, space mountain doesnt need a fixI don't see the issue of placing two coasters next to each other. It's not like they're identical experiences. They've also shown they're not afraid to plop e tickets next to each other, as they did in frontierland. As others have noted it would also provide them an opportunity to give space mountain a major fix
It absolutely needs a major fix. They added braking all over the track to ease the structural wear and tear. It wasn't gutted in the last refurb at all, that was DisneylandThey can wait for toy story to open and maybe be able to open it with s

yeah until Disney themselves, through D23 or DPB confirms it, it will still be a rumor. I hope it's true that would be really cool
Nope. Shovels prove nothing but holes are being dug.
