Tron roller coaster @MK?

Definitely needs the refurb. Disneyland's version is much better. It's a much smoother ride experience.

The jerkiness is part of the fun, IMO. Disneyland doesn't have the nice drops, either, which was disappointing. The drops are the best part.

I do love Paris's version, but it's a completely different sort of roller coaster than WDW's.

Ok, I revised my overlay a bit - if you have the dome/open air part a bit over the WDW Railroad track and the edge of the speedway you could make it fi

Take it and turn it North/South. They'll move the water across the road. And as far east as you can, so they have an amply plaza.

Would possibly mean no touching train or speedway, or at least infrastructure wise.

Realistic expectations...not "Martin says 12"...Martin needs a new hobby...
I suggest you look into Martin and what he does. If you are a Disney fan you should know of him and his amazing tribute videos. You are a fan of old Epcot are you not? He just came out with an amazing horizons videos.

And I don't disregard the value of that...but the park visitor moving forward is going to expect high tech and smooth...that's going to be inevitable.

...Not everyone grew up on John miller woodies at places like Kennywood like I did...

space mountain had a major refurb in 2009 not 2012, i was wrong in the dates, but still it doesn't need another major refurb yet...
What!?!?!?!? Yes, yes it does. That refurb was supposed to be a total redo but instead that redo was cancelled for something more simple. The track is in rough shape and needs major work.

I believe it, News Today has been breaking a lot of stories lately. I don't like either "Tron" movie at all, both are lame and fake looking. .... But it's a big improvement over "Tomorrowland Gas Guzzlers". It is an awesome E-ticket attraction, for a land that's starving for one (besides Space Mountain).

If true you have to give Disneysource her props, she predicted this ride would happen.
Breaking and being right are two different things.

No...I've seen it...

I'm not much of a "tribute video" kinda guy...

I'm more interested in seeing, smart, quality work from Disney that invests in a longterm successful business model. quality wins out.

Right...I can set up a pretty site and "break" a story that says they are adding a panda section to Asia and planning an austrailia section with nemo tie ins to be built behind Chester and Hester's (which will be rethemed) to open 2022...and claim insider sources.

...and there's no way anyone can prove it's NOT happening as we speak...

But I made that all up.

Ok, well, if this is already pre-made then it puts the dome/open air area facing out ... if they can flip it all horizontally (pic 2) then it could work

It needs to be demolished...which they did in anaheim on a newer ride that now accommodates more modern trains...

And if you're gonna do that...maybe change the whole she-bang.

The second one could work. If you swing (and you don't have to just talking out loud) the bottom dome to the right it creates a plaza area which the Shanghai one has that is kinda cool. Also space to expand Storybook Lane to be wider and provide to two ways in. I think looking across the Speedway to it that way shrinks the massive size and invasion to the park.

The plaza actually has some very similar looks as the area in front of SM, so if you redo that area to be more sophisticated it would blend. The storybook lane is widened and then a couple bridges passing over the trains - again that far back is removed enough behind Speedway to not look too big. The bridges could be similar to the ramps in Shanghai.

@lockedoutlogic you mentioned earlier that if a hypothetical ground up redo was done to space mountain it'd be better to go to one track? Why do you think so? I enjoy the two track set up but wonder if there's a logistical reason for that view

I just don't think the space is big enough for a modern ride track/system...especially if you wanted a smoother ride you'll need going forward...

There's also the two loads/unloads...no need for separate queues laid out the way they are anymore...

Just a theory...but that's not gonna happen in any form for quite awhile.

Fair enough, makes sense

I am unsure of your meaning regarding what they did in Anaheim. The Space Mountain in Anaheim was built the way it is, completely differently from the MK (original) Space Mountain. Mostly it was because they needed it to have a smaller footprint in Anaheim (thus it is a much smaller building) but also because the MK Space Mountain is quite similar to the Matterhorn Bobsleds, already present at Disneyland.

The DL Space Mountain is more modern and probably a "better" roller coaster, though I still think the MK version, with it's Star Tunnel and general size makes for a grander experience.

I get you...but the Anaheim version has also undergone better/more complete system replacements for the last 2 decades...in Orlando it's a macgyver special.
