Trixie Belden fans, post here!

Count me in! I read them like crazy. My favorite was the one with the emeralds. My dd has started reading them too.

I found one at Target the other day and showed it to DD, and she showed very little interest in it. I loved these books. I liked them better than Nancy Drew, but Nancy Drew was always more popular. I will have to go and check some out from the library and get caught up! I loved the way Trixie and Honey had so much freedom!!

Another Trixie reader here!

I loved the one where her little brother (Bobby?) got bit by a snake and she sucked the poison out of his toe! Also, the one when they found Jim living in the deserted old house.

I read everything I could get my hands on back then - and still do!

I LOVED Trixie Belden books. My favorite was the Secret of the Mansion. I dont think I was able to find that many of them. I do remember the one with the snake and I think there was one that was about something hidden in a clock?

I loved these books! When I was in grade school my good friend gave me all of her big sister's hand-me-down books because she hated to read. In the box was the whole set of Trixie books. Well, at least the whole set way back when. ;) Can't say I remember a favorite, just that I almost wore them out.

I also loved the Little House books, Anne of Green Gables, Nancy Drew, and Zane Grey. I've tried to interest my DD in all of these books, but so far the only ones she's been interested in was the Little House series and now she's outgrown many of them.

I am just amazed to see this thread this morning!

I LOVED TRIXIE BELDEN and no one ever knows what I'm talking about. Everybody knows Nancy Drew, but no one knows Trixie!!!

:goodvibes

I too loved Trisie Belden books! I used to read them over & over!!!!

I also used to read Nancy Drew, Dana Girls, Hardy Boys and Cherry Ames books!

I love mysteries still to this day!!! :flower:

I LOVED Trixie Belden!!!! I was a devoted reader as a child, and these were my favorites. I liked Nancy Drew, too, but she was a little older than me and I couldn't really relate to her as well. Trixie and the other BWG, on the other hand, were my very dear friends. Several years ago the entire set was reprinted in paperback and I bought and reread numbers 1 - 38. On Ebay one day a few years ago, I found that the series ended with number 39. Believe me, I felt as though I had gotten a real bargain when I only had to pay $65.00 for it (a used paperback that originally cost $1.95!) Well worth it to have the whole set, which I reread every few years. Neither of my daughters, who are also great readers, have been very interested, although younger DD11 recently started the first one and said she liked it.

I loved all the other books that have been mentioned, especially the Shoe books and other by Noel Streatfield. The Magic Summer and The House at Caldicott Place were my very favorites. Also, the Elizabeth Enright books - The Saturdays, The Four-Story Mistake, etc. and Gone Away Lake and Return to Gone Away Lake. And yes, I have all these books upstairs and I may have to go read now!!!!!

OMG - what was the one where they went to New York City and had to solve the mystery that was a poem .... in Spanish I think?

Honey decided she wanted a career at the United Nations and Jim and Trixie had a couple of those semi Romantic Moments?

I bet I read that one 200 times. :goodvibes

Toby's Friend- that is The Mystery of the Blinking Eye. That is my favorite!

They are re-releasing the books currently and the next one is to be out on March 25. I stupidly sold all my books ( I had the whole series) because I got tired of moving them when I was out of college. My oldest two boys and I are reading them together now so I am purchasing them yet again!

I also loved Beany Malone, Cherry Ames, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder series. I am reading that one with my boys, too. They did re-release the Beany Malone books, but the set it $140.

Trixie fan checking in!

Also liked Cherry Ames, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Nancy Drew, and when I was younger...the Boxcar Kids (the two littlest were twins and then an older brother and sister). My mom gave me one of her books..which was a "Penny Nichols" book...but I haven't found anybody else who has read those.

I remember thinking it was so cool at the end of one book when Jim gave Trixie his ID bracelet. As a 5th or 6th grader I kept thinking I'd get one someday, not realizing guys didn't wear ID bracelets anymore. :rotfl:

Wasn't there one where Jim gave Trixie a braclet while they were on an airplane or something? Then held her hand? My best friend and I in 6th grade read that part over and over to each other. It was soooooo romantic!

Mrs. Elephant. :teeth: That's one of my favorite books ever. I put it in my kids' bookcase and hope they stumble on it someday.

Yes, you guys have great memories. That one's number #9, The Happy Valley Mystery. There was also ice skating, sheep stealing, and the 4H club.

I loved these books. It was such a thrill to go to the bookstore and buy a new one about once a month. I still have my collection and am waiting for the right time for my DD's to read them. I think I will have to re-read to see if she is ready for them. (She is in 3rd grade now)

Ohh, Mrs. Elephant!!!! And Rush, and Randy, and Oliver in the cellar....and the cupola, and the brook, and Rush eating three breakfasts...OK, must go re-read immediately!!!!

I would love to start collecting these again! I had them as a child....

I also loved the Boxcar children :D
