Day 2 (April 22, 2002)- Epcot

Cast:

Myself (25 yr. Old working mom and wife)- My 6th time (haven’t been there since honeymoon in 1998)
My DH (27 yr. Old working dad and husband)-His 10th time (haven’t been there since honeymoon in 1998)
My DD (22 months old and as sweet as pie)-1ST TRIP EVER!!!!
My mother in law-Been there many times
2 sister in laws-Been there many times
1 great aunt-in-law-Been there many times

We (Mother in law, great aunt, DH, DD, and I) arrived at like 10:30 and could walk to the entrance from the car. We went straight to Test Track. It wasn’t open yet!!!!! Got a FP (for 1:30 PM!!!!). We all walked through Innoventions and then MIL and great aunt decided to walk around the world.

We (DH, DD, and I) did “Honey I shrunk” and the Imagination Pavillion. I tried to make a picture post card twice and it FAILED BOTH TIMES. By this time we were getting late for our 12:30 PS at Coral Reef, and we were NOT having a good time. So many things had gone wrong already.

We walked into the Coral Reef and our day COMPLETELY turned around. THE RESTAURANT WAS BEAUTIFUL. The food was the most delicious I have tasted. My husband was so skeptical (he hates fancy dishes and he absolutely hates seafood). He had chicken and deemed it, “delicious.” The service was great. The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were OK. Then……it got better!!! We had dessert. The “Chocolate Wave” was the best food dish that I have ever tasted in my life. I had a “Chocolate Essence” wine too…….DELICIOUS! My husband is still raving about the Peanut Butter Playdough that he “shared” with McKenzie. We were SO IMPRESSED by this place.

We met the others so that they could watch McKenzie while we rode Test Track.

We all went back to the hotel and rested.

Then my MIL and 2 daughters wanted to go to MK with one of my sister-in-law’s friends. We wanted to go back to Epcot to go around the world. The great aunt offered to watch McKenzie in the hotel room. PERFECT.

We decided that we were going to “drink our way around.” My husband got beer for us to share in Canada and the UK…then we started alternating. I got wine in France and Italy and Norway. He got beer in many of the others. We tried Sushi and Sake in Japan YUK!!!! Never again!

But the night just seemed to fall into place for us and I felt that it was magical. We seemed to be in the the right country at exactly the right time to be there We heard “Off Kilter.” We saw the “Living Statues.” We saw the entertainment in Japan. Then…..in America……..”Survivor (Eye of the Tiger)” was playing. My DH thoroughly enjoyed this. I think he felt a bit of magic. We stayed for their whole set. Then……we were standing by the doorway in Germany when the announcement came out about Tapestry of Dreams parade. This was totally unplanned. We were just in exactly the right place at the right time.

I loved this parade. I loved seeing both. A puppet leaned down in front of us (I’m sure it wasn’t intended for us). But I think that my husband thought it was and you should have seen his face when he touched that puppet. I love that man. Then he talked the German beer cart woman into giving him a bottle cap off of his beer bottle (you could tell she didn’t want to), and he got just as excited about that too though. Oh well…What can I say? Just so many instances of being in the right place at the right time in every country.

We made our way through the rest of the countries (decided that it was best to skip a drink in Mexico and China). We had had enough drinking for the night (I was defintely fine to drive {only 3 glasses of wine in approximately 4 hours} but my husband had really partaked). We watched Illuminations (AWESOME) and then started to drive to the hotel. It was then that we realized that we hadn’t eaten dinner. So……we stopped at the West Side (Planet Hollywood). I LOVE DISNEY!!! Planet Hollywood was nice to eat in once, but never again. Nothing special.

We missed a lot today too, but I think that we were very satisfied with our day.

We almost got to eat at Coral Reef on our last trip. Sounds like we missed a treat.

it sounds great! I love the unexpected things that happen at WDW the best!

parade and fireworks in Epcot for our last night In Disney......it was a great night wasn't it......we even loved watching the bunnies and the ducks try to steal our food.......thanks so much for your magical day and evening........
