Trip report vs journaling each page

Hi! Does anyone write a 'trip report' for their scrapbooks? I did one for my last trip (it was about 9 typed pages long) and then I didn't journal on a single page. I just started my TR for this past trip, and I just wondered what other people do. (I'm not necessarily talking a trip report to be posted on the DIS like a lot of people do...I think some of them are a riot to read, but that's just not for me).

My 1st disney trip had journaling on the pages, and I dreaded doing it....

so, what do YOU do?

i ususally put a small journalling box on each page and wrote a brief note about what was going on, ie Chef Mickey i wrote anything special that happened.

For my most recent trip, I'm doing kind of a combination of both. Each day has a page with a detailed description of the overall day. But if something has a more detailed story (like when DH got chosen as an extra for Indy or when DsD got singled out at Prime Time Cafe) that will just get a brief mention in the daily report and the full story it's own page. Then some pages don't have any journalling at all.

Mine albums for the '05 trip were similar. I wrote the trip report first, then used things I'd said to tell the story in the scrapbook. I did not use everything in a the trip report, but much of it.

I write very detailed trip reports and print them and scrap them too. On the layouts, I include some info about the layout as well. Some pages are just a quote or a quick line, other pages have lots of journalling.

Our last trip I did a mini trip report of funny things that happened and such. Everyday I would ask everyone what their favorites and least favorites were and included them. DS had to do weather chart for school each day

yes, I did this too! Every night, I asked everyone "ok, your turn, Best/Worst!". They got used to it! I'm almost done with page 3 (typed) and am just finishing the first full day. LOL I'm loving writing it though, because there were little things that I forgot about, and I'm asking everyone questions as I'm writing...and I saved all the receipts, so I know what time we went to breakfast, etc, which souvies we bought which day, etc!

For our 2004 trip, on the first page of the section for each park, I used the family pic in front of the park icon and journaled the rest of that page (2 pages for MK, lol) about everything we did there.

I didn't think about the favorites and worst, but my kids are still little enough that I know--DS6 HATED Splash Mountain, he told us repeatedly!

For my last trip I did bullet point sentences of the "highlights" and "lowlights" for each day. I felt this way I could get the point across without having to tell the whole story. This is what I wrote for the first day:

The first realization that you’re actually at the Happiest Place on Earth  Getting on the newest ride, Expedition Everest - we have seen this being built and it was a treat to just see it completed  Finally catching the Jammin’ Jungle Parade  Eating at one of my favorite restaurants Boma’s, an African-themed restaurant – the food is always phenomenal and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is spectacular 

Not using a town car service  Having to switch rooms to meet my approval (Jason and Ma watched my expression as we unpacked and I took a good look around – they both said at the same time, “Are we switching rooms?” The answer, yes.) ​
