Trip Report

Ok. Here goes. Maybe not as detailed as I thought in the beginning, but gives a pretty good idea of our holiday.

CM´s are ME (mom, 28), DH (dad, 30), DS Antonius (11) :clown: , DD Saga (9) princess: , DD Maria (4) princess: and DD Katla (1) princess: .

We arrived REALLY tired after a 25 hour trip at our hotel at 11 pm on the 7th. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Buena Park and had a great room. It was on the first floor, right across from the restaurant and close to the pool. Our bedroom had 2 queen beds and a crib and the living room had a sofa sleeper where the big kids slept. 2 tv´s, a kitchenette, bathroom and extra sink in bedroom. :thumbsup2

Got up at 5 (!!!) on Friday morning due to the time difference and had to wait for breakfast to start at 6. Brekfast was good and fast. We couldn´t wait to hit the parks and decided to be there at opening. We were expecting it to be crowded because of the spring breaks, but weren´t sure how bad it would be. :confused3

Picked up some autograph books at the hotel so that we would be totally prepared for the parks. Great to be able to get different kinds of books for the kids. Antonius got a book with Mickey and friends on the front, Saga decided that Winnie the Pooh and friends (especially Piglet) were her favorites, Maria OF COURSE didn´t see anything else than the book with the Princesses and Katla (which is blond and blue eyed) got a book with Tinkerbell. Yeah!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Arrived at DL´s main entrance at ten past 8 and that´s when it hit us! We were finally there!!! In front of us was Mickey and a 50th sign made of flowers. Beautiful, as always.

Stayed at the park til 4 pm that day. We met Belle, ::MinnieMo :goofy: pluto: and Buzz and saw Alice, :tigger: pooh: :eeyore: and Chip and Dale. You should have seen Maria´s face when she met Belle. Priceless!!! :teeth:

Went on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyears Astro Blasters, Honey I shrunk the Audience, Donald´s Boat, Dumbo and Pinocchio´s Daring Adventures and the Caroussel by the castle.

We never waited for more than 10 min. for any attraction or character!!!

Left the park at 4 and headed back to the hotel for a swim and some shopping at Target.

Saturday:
Got up at 5 again, went for breakfast and a swim and then for a drive to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Grabbed some quick lunch at a sandwhich shop on Rodeo Drive, checked out the stars on Hollywood Blvd, and did a tour of the stars’ homes in Beverly Hills, with the help of a map I bought by the Kodak theater. Went back to the hotel for dinner, a pizza to our room. :stir:

Sunday:
Now, this was the most important day of the whole trip. This would be the day when we would celebrate both Maria’s and Katla’s birthdays. princess: princess: There real birthdays were on the following Tuesday and Saturday, but since we wouldn´t be at DL then we decided to celebrate them both this Sunday. I had already ordered some princess dresses online for them to wear to the parks and had made a PS for the princess lunch at Ariels Grotto. They had no idea about this and thought it would just be another day at the parks and that we would buy them some ice cream to celebrate. Little did they know! ;)

We started the day off at Guest Relations in DL where they got their birthday stickers. What a great thing! They got birthday wishes from all the CM’s they met and many of the other guests as well. That certainly added some magic to the day. Went on It´s a small world and Gadgets Go Coaster (both were “walk on”, no lines) and met Mickey at his house. Did a bit of shopping (Mickey and Minnie antenna toppers, a “It’s a small world” throw and some sunglasses for the 4 year old princess).
Moved over to DCA when it opened and immediately hit the rides while the crowds were low.
Before lunch we went on The Grizzly River Run (and got really wet) and Soarin’, as well as the caroussel and did the Turtle Talk with Crush. Got Fastpasses for Screamin’ and arrived at Ariels Grotto with our birthday princesses and siblings just in time for our 12 o’clock PS.

The weather was nice and we were seated outside by the water. Maria (DD 4, and wearing a cindarella dress and crown) could not believe her eyes when she saw Cindarella walk towards her table. “Mommy, mommy, it’s the REAL princess”!!!

Cindarella was so sweet and told her that they looked just the same and kept telling Maria how pretty she was. Just made my princess’s day, week, month and probably even year!!!
Cindarella was followed by Snow White, Belle, Mulan and Ariel and they all chit-chatted, signed autograph books, stopped for photos with all of them and of course wished a :bday:

This was definately one of the best moments of the trip and something we´ld do again in a heartbeat. Our waiter was great and the food was actually good. I had ordered them the birthday buckets and the were placed on our table. We told Maria that they were gifts from the princesses and they of course bought into that (hey, a white lie can´t hurt from time to time). The “cup cakes” that came with the buckets were so big that the 6 of us didn´t even finish 2 cup cakes. Definately an American “supersize me” thing. They had a picture of Micket wishing them a Happy Birthday on them and came with one candle. :cake: Very sweet!!!
