Hi Everyone, we had a great 3 days at RPR this Dec and I wanted to hit a few highlights before I forget.
RPR is a great resort, wonderful comfy beds and friendly helpful staff. Love staying there. Also love being able to walk the beautiful paths to and from the parks.
The Harry Potter addition to IOA is amazing!! We went twice, on arrival night it was pretty packed but it was cool to just see the buildings and wander around. It was weird that FJ was a walk on even with the crowds in that area, so we jumped on. The Castle is stunning and the detail was SO cool. I get motion sickness but was determined to ride at least once to experience the ride. Big mistake, lol! I was trashed in less then 20 seconds! My Dh and DD (10) loved the ride and went on again as soon as they got off. Went back with EE the next morning and just loved seeing all the stores with no crowds. They were so packed the night before it was impossible to turn around. We saw the first Olivanders show and it was cute, DD bought a wand right after. The little girl who was picked to be in the show was so excited, she was adorable
We rode Flight of the HippoGriff about 8 times that morning, love the view from the top of the ride!
The Good Food: 3 Broomsticks was great CS! We all loved it! Tried both frozen Butterbeer and regular, and the regular wins with our group. Amazingly yummy.
Pastamore at city walk was awesome, really great woodfired pizza and yummy pasta at a great price.
Margaritaville was good, the nachos are truly huge, I enjoyed the fried chicken salad, but Dh thought the jerk chicken was just ok.
The Kitchen at the Hard Rock was hit and miss. My cheese steak was great but Dh's hamburger was meh, just average.
Confiscos mixed fajitas were alright but nothing special.
We were most disappointed with Finnegans. We tried the Scotch eggs (bland)
the corned beef sandwich (almost no corned beef!) and the fish and chips (greasy in a bad way and more breading than fish).
Christmas stuff: Grinchmas, The Blues Brothers, and the Macys Parade were all AWESOME, I just loved them all
A BIG Thank You to the posters here who give such great advice for Universal. We had a blast, loved the Parks and really enjoyed our stay. We used a 20% off coupon at Pastamore, a $10 at Hard Rock, (2) free margarita coupons at Margaritaville on our food purchases. We had a great AP rate on the hotel $139 and got many AP discounts in the parks on merchandise. The staff was great about asking! I appreciated that
We also loved that our room was available when we arrived at 8am after driving all night from MI. We had room 3314 just off the lobby, it had a great view of the Christmas tree at the pool. Can't wait to go again! Coupons can be found at orlandoconventionaid.com
