Trip Report Aulani June 2025

We will be at Aulani in September, so this trip report is perfect for getting me in the mood for the trip!

We had lunch at Roy‘s on our last trip and really liked it. But Happy Hour looks really good and I agree with you that the deck looks much nicer than inside!

We love it now too and now I wish we tried it earlier... lol.

We will be at Aulani in September, so this trip report is perfect for getting me in the mood for the trip!

We had lunch at Roy‘s on our last trip and really liked it. But Happy Hour looks really good and I agree with you that the deck looks much nicer than inside!

Yeah! I love Sept in Hawaii. My first trip to Hawaii was my honeymoon and it was in Sept. Sept is great weather and is normally less crowded.

And yes happy hour is the way to go with Roys. A more limit menu but better atmosphere and a little cheaper on food and drinks.

Next we head down to the lawn for the dvc party. We have learned we don't need to get there as early as they suggest. They suggest like half an hour early... my son just cannot last that long. So we go 15 mins early instead. Remember to bring towels to sit on. If u have someone who cannot sit on the ground they do have chairs to the side. Also wear you light up mickey ears that you make here. Lots of other people wearing them and they glow great for evening dance party we packed and wore the ones we made last trip.

We each get a free kukui nut lei. We use these leis for our beach photos later. One of the free things that I love us getting for being dvc members.





Also got fun rainbow glow sticks!

By the time we get seated the hype guy starts doing trivia. So my son has fun trying to get picked for the trivia.
They do a small sales pitch video but most of it is just a fun dance party with characters.
We have soo much fun dancing.




We love it. Our son loves a chance to get the wiggles out.
At the end they have the characters spread out for you to meet and get pics.
We head for mickey. I wanted to make sure we get mickey.
They do sign things still at this event.

And we get our family pic.


Then time for bed! Wow that was a 1st full day and even though it did not go as planned it ended up a great day.

Day 3
Good morning!

Wait it does not look like morning... lol.



But it is bueatiful! Man that moon is shining!
Did I mention I love our balcony view!

We had to wake up early since we needed to be at North shore by 5:30am!

Luckily we were all still mostly on Colorado time. We get ready for the shark diving and eat our breakfast and head out.

The lobby so quite in the morning.


Our drive is even easier earlier in the morning.

We check in again with the shark divers. We all joked around how this was round 2.

They have us go to the bathroom since there are no bathrooms on the boat. We booked a private boat so it will just be our family. Our shark divers said they love the 6am ones since the water is the most calm this early.




We go out and man the water is calm. They said this is the calmest they seen it any a while!
And man is it bueatiful.


There is the cage we will be useing.


Our shark people talked about sharks and answered all my sons questions. My son had soo much fun talking with them. He looves sharks. They also explain the whole process how to get in and out and now it is time to go in!!



My husband is the first to go in.
They do a good job helping us all in esp with my dad and son who need some extra help.

Here are some pics from shark diving!










Man it was soo cool! Worth every penny. What I loved about being alone we got to spend as much time as we wanted in it. No rush getting in or out. And my son needed a break so he climbed out and then went back in later. Another thing I loved while my son was out. The guides talked to him more about sharks and what we were seeing.
We got to see galapagos sharks. We all loved this experience my son still raves about it.
We went with Hawaii Shark Encounters and would highly recommend them again! Just check u book the right day.
Our guides said today was the most calm they seen in a while and if we did go out on Monday it was way bumpy. So today ended up being a near perfect day they said for waves! Soo yeah me messing up!
So go early for calm waves.

We head back and they pointed out turtle heads and showed us where we could find turtles after our diving.

Next we went changed at the local beach bathroom. Sadly the marina is closed for some sort of issue. Then we go to the beach next to the marina where our guides said there are always turtles. We are there so early they are not on the beach sunning. But they were out swimming right next to shore eating. You can see their heads peek up.




Next we go to our brunch. We are going to a local fav Konos.

We put in our order and wait at the tables. There are chickens everywhere. My son was both happy and worried at the same time. Lol.

He loved it, he was not in a burrito mood.

My got the kula pork tacos. Mom loved it.

My husband and me got the classic breakfast burritos here with kula pork and wa amazing! They are soo big. I was only able to eat have of it and wrapped it up to save for later.



These are soo good and such a good value!
Parking this early made it really easy to park too. Highly recommend coming here for breakfast.

We then drove back to Aulani. A great morning in the north shore.
As we drive down we stop at local fruit stand and pick at some yummy fruit.


(The fruit was great when we ate it later.)
Then my mom and me make a trip to ABC store to buy some things.

Took a pic of the Aulani sign while walking over. The ABC store is soo amazing and such an easy walk.

Next we met characters in the afternoon Marcus had a long conversation with Moana about his shark diving and how Maui could have been one of the sharks we saw today. Soo much fun. I love the characters here in Aulani.




Next we met Duffy. Duffy loved my Olu Mel outfit too. Duffy gives the best hugs!
