Trip planning for June 2016

Hi All,

Planning my trip for June 2016. Which is the closest neighborhood hotel to Disney? I was thinking Desert Inn and Suites for this trip. Any thoughts? Also what is the Lily Belle??? It's been since 2006 since we've been to Disneyland. I'm sure I have lots to learn. Are they using Magic Bands there?

At this time, Magic Bands have not been implemented at Disneyland. A recent LA Times article quoted a Disney executive as saying that Disney has no plans on using Magic Bands at Disneyland.

THE closest "Good Neighbor" hotel to Disneyland is the Best Western Park Place Inn. If you're a AAA member, you can get a small discount on room rates (about 10% off, I think). ALL of the motels along Harbor Blvd charge a fee for parking on top of the regular room rate, so it's just something to be aware of. Well, except for the Howard Johnson's...they don't charge for parking. Lots of folks on the DIS love Hojo's and they are known for excellent customer service.

Tropicana and the Camelot Inns (they're sister properties, I believe) both often have a deal where you can get 20-25% off of the regular room rate if you stay at least 5 nights.

Tom Bell on the DIS podcasts has done a lot of very informative reviews of several Good Neighbor hotels...complete with pictures. I've found that to be really helpful and useful information.

hi @SCRAPBOOKQUEEN Im going to Disneyland in just over a weeks time. I stay at Motel 6 Main Gate, which is just a short shuttle ride from Disney. I will be writing up a trip report when I get back. This year will be my 6th visit to Disneyland
