Is there anyother trips planning books to get other than the excellent Brits Guide which I have already got?

I also have the Unofficial guide which is excellent and Passporter. The passporter is useful as it has little pockets for each day and makes an excellent keepsake too! :teeth:

The Brits Guide is the only one I buy.

Kelly Monaghan's Universal Orlando is very good - but naturally does not include WDW parks etc

thanks for the information, the brits guide will take some beating as to a good guide book

Simon,

All these books are very good especially if you haven't been before but be cautious when using the touring plans. Remember you're not the only person with these guides and we have found that following these may not be the best thing to do. A possible tip is avoid the parks on early entry days unless you are staying on site. Use the fast pass system and try not to do too musch at once although it is always tempting to try to cram as much in as possible. Rides will be quieter around parade times and if it rains, warm rain's not to bad after all!

In summary use the books to give you an idea of what to expect but remember visiting WDW its not a military operation it's supposed to be a holiday. :rotfl2:

disneycymru,

I am not going to plan each day as more than likely it will change when you are over there.

I suppose you are bound to cram in more than you know you can do. Surely every one tries to do everything on there first trip. I dont mind being wet, the sun will dry me out. If we can walk around theme parks in this country when its raining, warm rain wont stop us.

Yep will use fast pass, I have used them at Alton Towers, although at Alton they arent free anymore.

we signed up for tour guide mike and have found his info invaluable...

Read a lot of the books and been a lot of times the best is:-

The Unofficial guide, it tells you everything good and bad.
Birnbaum's official guide os ok but only tell you the rosey stuff in Disneys way, everything is great, doesnt tell you the negatives.

I found the Brits guide ok in places a few good tips but not a lot of substance.

I only had the Brits guide for my 1st trip and have bought it again for my 2nd & 3rd.

I did progress to more than one guide book for my subsequent trips but am glad I didnt overload on information before going to 1st time. The guide books can contradict each other (mainly difference of opinion) but once you have been you can sort the information an decide wether it's relevant to you or not.

The Unofficial Guide is very, very good especially the touring plans. Used them and never queued more than 15 minutes (often less) on a trip between 27th June and 10th July in 2004.

It does give you warnings about the pitfalls of Disney (i.e. queues, heat, cost), which puts some people off; for me, it just allowed better preparation.

I went a bit mad and bought 4 books:

A Brits Guide to Orlando
Fodor's Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and Central Florida
Beyond Disney: The Unofficial Guide to Universal, Sea World and the Best of Central Florida
Mini Mickey: The Pocket-Sized Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World

I think the Brits guide if def best. I liked Foder's the least. The 2 unofficial guides have good ride descriptions and touring guides which I plan to try.
