Trip planning - advice needed!

Me and the boyfriend are looking to go to WDW next september / october. A bit last minute really in terms of saving so will see how it goes lol.

He has left the planning up to me as hes never been and i have - only once but to him that makes me an expert Been pricing up Art of Animation and its looking good, defo want to get the QSDP but if the virgin free dining offer is on for next year ill prob book port orleans to get it for free, if the price isnt crazy.

Also been looking at a 3 day universal pass, as last time i went we just did Disney, is it worth it with taxis and paying for food once thier? Would love to go but trying to make this trip as cheap as poss.

Also looked at staying off site, but i think id feel happyer / safer staying on site.

Any advice / thoughts on my plan would be very helpfull.

I'm also going next sept/oct. we're staying onsite at the yacht club and have the free dining plan. It's not cheap, but just so much easier to get around Disney when you're onsite.

Like you, we don't drive, so we'll be getting taxis to universal. We're going to get 2 day passes (one day at each park is enough for us). Virgin do offer shuttle transfers to the other parks from your Disney hotel, which were $12 for a return when we last used them, so $24 per couple for a days transport. Only thing is you have to phone to book times. With a taxi it is so much easier.... No restrictions. But, you do pay for the convenience. It's about $40 one way to universal so about $80 per couple for a days transport. I always take about $300 extra on holiday with me and use that for our four days out... Universal x2, seaworld and shopping at the malls on idrive. Like I say, more pricey that way but less hassle.

I'd love to try art of animation. And in my opinion you do save money getting the dining plan. If you could upgrade to a deluxe resort and get the free regular dining plan, even better as you'll only really need to pay for drinks. You'll pay more for the hotel but need less spending money so you'd need to weigh that up. You could always get a snack from your hotel and have dinner when you get back to your hotel on your universal days, meaning you don't need to spend much on food there, but there are cheapish food options whilst there.

Went last September and loved it, weather was perfect as im not a fan of it being to hot, but coped fine Looking at the 30th atm but nothings set in stone, would love to just book it now but got a long way to go with the saving

Going to try and take as little spending money as poss, last time i had way to much as we were on free dining and didnt think 2 meals a day would be enough - how wrong were we lol!!

Yeah, the food their fills you right up, and you probably eat less *** it's hot. When we went last sept a virgin rep from Orlando phoned us a few weeks before we flew and asked if we needed anything. That's when they said about transfers to universal. Worth looking into if you don't wanna take much cash.
