This isn't a typical trip report...I wrote it mostly so I could remember what happened this past weekend. This past weekend I took part in my first triathlon and it happened to be at Disney...so there are some Disney parts to this trip report and some triathlon parts to this trip report. If you want to read it fine if you don't that is ok with me also.
Let me say Disney is a great place to do something like a Triathlon and Danskin put one a great Tri...so if anyone wants to do it I would tell them to go for it...I had a great time.

Got up at 5 am, had breakfast, helped the girls get their things they need for a weekend at Grammies and Grampies house. Drove over to my parents. We dropped off the girls things and my father drove us to the airport. Our flight was at 9:10am. We got to the airport at 7:45am. I gave the girls a ton of kisses because this the longest will be the longest we have been away from the girls at the same time. Checked in without a problem, then we sat and waited and waited. We were flying Delta this time, I dont remember ever flying Delta in the past, but for this trip I had a AAA travel agent put together a package for us. Which is something I have never done before.
The first flight was to Cincinnati. The flight was good and much to our surprise not only did we get a drink, but a choice of a snack, honey roasted peanuts, Sun Chips, cheese & crackers, animal crackers or granola bar. Lately all the flights I have taken have only given out a beverage so a real snack type thing was a surprise. We landed about 20 minutes earlier then scheduled, it was nearly lunch time.
First Christian and I scouted out our gate, then decided to have lunch. We decided to try a place called Max and Irmas (or something like that). He had Spicy Chicken Sandwich and I had French Onion Soup and a small chicken salad croissant. What was different about this restaurant is they bake chocolate chip cookies to order, so Christian and I ordered 6 to gp and a glass of milk. Across from the restaurant we saw a store called The Spirit of the Red Horse. We saw a horse figure on a blue stone that our youngest daughter would love. We agreed that we would buy it on the way home since we had a lay over in Cincinnati on the way back.
We went to our gate and they just started boarding when we showed up. We boarded and had our cookies and milk, they were very very good. On this flight our flight attendant was about 4-5 months pregnant and both my husband and I felt funny having her wait on us. Also when we talked about it later we both had thought the same thing. If something had happened to the plane who would we handle it because we both knew we couldnt leave a pregnant woman behind in a dangerous situation. Well we never had to figure out what we would have to do because the flight was smooth. They also had a beverage and snack on board, but because of our wonderful cookies we both only had a drink.
We landed in Orlando right on time. I was a bit worried because I had only seen Christians bag not mine going between planes. I didnt know what I would do if my bag went missing with all the stuff I needed for the weekend, but it made it without a problem.
We got our bags and found our shuttle to Hertz to rent our car. No problem getting to Hertz, but when we got there they couldnt find our reservation, but we had a voucher saying we had paid for it. They never found the reservation, but they put together a new one and applied the voucher to it and made sure we took advantage of the AAA perk of both of us being allowed to drive the car at no additional charge. It was some tan car, it was clean which was the only thing I really cared about.
We got to Coronado Springs Resort without a problem. It was our first time there, we hadnt even ever eaten there, let alone stay there. We are DVC members but I wanted to stay at the resort where all the Tri stuff was going on because there was an Expo, a course review, first timers clinic and stuff like that going on and it seemed that staying there was the best idea.
The CM that checked us in wasnt the most friendly CM I have ever seen, but she was very efficient. She gave us room 5135 which is in the Casitas section on the first floor. The room had a water view and was one the first floor, it was really nice.
We also got $25 Disney Dollars as part of the package our AAA travel agent booked for us, the CM who checked us in didnt know how to account for giving us the Disney Dollars, but she found out very quickly. So even though she wasnt that friendly she knew what she was going and when she didnt she knew it was better to ask then putz around wasting time trying to figure it out.
We had to meet a friend for a 5:45pm PS at Tonys Town Square and it was getting late so we quickly checked out our room. Things were spotless and there was a towel bunny in the room waiting for us. My first towel animal.
We drove to the Magic Kingdom parked in the AAA lot (first time doing that) which was nice since we were already running behind we didnt need to wait for the tram. We met up with our friend, Cathi, we have known her since college. She works as a computer programmer for WDW and does the programming for the food and beverage computers.
Christian and I were on the dining plan, which was also a first for us, we had never done a dining plan before, it really worked out well for us this trip. We had talked to Cathi about sharing meals since we knew we cant finish two sit down meals with desserts and appetizers. Even with 3 people we didnt finish all the food. We had fried goat cheese,
calimari, seafood pasta, some sort of salmon, chocolate banana creme brullee and mini conollies. All the food was great. If we hadnt had the dining plan it would have been around $93 for dinner with tax and tip. We did have a little problem checking out, but it was the waitresses first day and she was very nervous but we told her we totally understood so dont worry. I did go to guest services at our hotel when we left the park just to make sure everything was really ok in the end, it was.
We went to get a fastpass for Space Mt., someone ended up giving us theirs because they were leaving. Then we went and bought a few things for the girls. Cathi had to leave because she was tired after a full day at work and staying at the park so she headed out. We said bye to Cathi and went over to Space Mt. it turns out that it just broke so they were turning people away. We decided we would leave but found Main Street blocked by the parade, so we wandered around and ended up back over by Space Mt. which had just restarted. So we went on Space Mt. Then we headed back to our room.
