Any thoughts on whether you should purchase the trip insurance that is offered when you book a package deal? For 2002 the insurance cost is $33.95 per an adult.

Also - if you book a room only & then add all the other parts yourself, do you need or can you even get this insurance?

Thanks!

We got our trip insurance through Travelguard when we went in Jan. But we were going for 7 days at WDW followed by the 7 day cruise. Disney's insurance was much more! However, we're going back in Dec.-just to WDW and I haven't decided if we'll get the trip insurance yet. My concern was more for problems on the cruise-like getting real sick or having an accident and having to be airlifted off! So we'll probably skip the trip insurance this time. It does give you peace of mind though in case you have to cancel. Just read the fine print and know what they cover.

Thanks for the reply. Based on the info. I got from the CM I spoke with at CRO, they said that if I cancelled 0 to 5 days in advance I would have to pay $200, 6 to 44 days - $100, & 45 days or more a $10 processing fee or $50 change fee. Compared to the cost of our trip and the small probability of having to use the insurance that doesn't seem like much. Does anyone know if I have this information correct? Maybe I misunderstood.

Pink Flamingo, the cancellation policy and accompanying fees should be set out in writing with your package confirmation information. If it is not, ask them to mail it to you. This is very important, because if the cancellation policy changes, unless you are notified in writing, the policy that was in effect at the time you purchased should prevail.

If you have not yet purchased the package, then just ask them to be sure to include the cancellation policy in the info. they send you when you do purchase.
