Okay, our confirmation for our first trip home arrived in yesterday's mail along with the info about the Travel Insurance. After I called and got the info from the company the first thing DH said was to get on the DIS boards and ask about it...ah, perhaps he's gonna convert yet...

Anyway, so that is my question...Has anyone used the insurance? If so, what can you tell me that the company didn't? If you've made a claim, how did it go? I guess I'm looking for some real folks opinions here.

In all of my travel years I've never had to cancel a trip, but I am the caregiver for my father and sister and Dad is being stubborn...it's hard for him to accept the limitations his elderly body is now placing upon him. He was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in November and is on oxygen for the rest of his life, has had congestive heart disease for almost 6 years, recently aquired 3 compressions fractures in ribs/vertebraes, and diagnosed with oestoperosis...I know I spelled that wrong, sorry. Anyway that he's experiencing fractures so easily. I am thinking positive and know that the only reason we would cancel or change the trip in December would be because of Dad's health. So, I'm curious if anyone has used the insurance and how well it went.

I know the company only offers $5/point used but I guess that is better than nothing. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!

If you had to cancel, you probably could rent them for more than $5 a point. Also you have to watch the pre-existing condition clauses. If you are seriously considering it, I would ask for a copy of the policy first.

Thanks! I will do that...about the renting...being first timers with using our DVC I would not have a clue about how to do that!
