Hot and crowded

But if you go expecting that, and plan accordingly, you'll have a good time anyway

If you go expecting it to be like a cool New England day and nobody there but you -- you're going to have a bad time.

Really I didnt think it would be too crowded in September since most schools are back in by then

Those dates fall over Labor Day Weekend and it's also Free Dining. There really aren't any slow times at WDW any longer.

I figured crowds had to be better than later in the month during the food and wine festival im hoping it at least isnt August busy I checked easywdw crowd calender and it has crowd between 1-3 during my dates hopefully it wont be tooooo busy LoL

I read that TOTALLY backwards! LOL

I thought you WERE planning on early sept and changed to early aug.

You're right. Probably somewhat lower crowds, but still hot.

That is actually still one of the best weeks to go. Schools are just back in session, and a few people on here that went last year during that time, have reported it being great as far as crowds go. I think this is one of those times where free dining doesn't really impact crowds much. It starts to really get crowded later in the month. And another plus is that Food & Wine doesn't start until 9/14, which is why we booked 9/3-9/10 to avoid it at all costs lol. Labor Day might be a little more crowded, but the crowds drop after Labor Day, so we plan on staying away from MK on the holiday, and we're going to DHS that day.

Still hot! But one of the lower crowd times still around. Because free dining is going on, you may have a bit of trouble with dining reservations - best to be flexible on choices and times.
Park hours will likely be shorter than at busier times. If you like late nights, park hopper tickets might help you to choose best parks during the day and still hop to whichever has longest evening hours.

May do a quick service here and there not really aiming at character dinning my husband is picky and my daughter is worse so it would be a waste
