Okay, I just wanted to add a tip to all those who are wondering how to keep the "white" from showing on their shirts when transferring designs-

This is geared toward dark transfer users- Which I prefer
But for those who also don't care for the "shininess" that shows through from the light transfers- this is also helpful-

Okay, You have to have an X-acto knife... and I have several due to my passion for paper...

A sharp blade.. and very nice to have back up blades although the blade you start with should get through at least three full transfers before needing sharpening or changing

I have cutting mats in various sizes but you can also use a cutting board
Whatever you use you must have a hard surface-

Place your transfer down and if you like you can add a small piece of tape to the corners but it is really not necessary-
hold very close to where you are trimming and trim at the edge of the design-
Have a steady hand, press hard enough to get through the paper and the transfer material- you may have to go over small areas in small strokes and more than once to make the "plastic-like" transfer material cut through completely- Amy's dark transfers are great because they are not exactly "plasticy" but more rigid but soft before you iron them- Hmm Not sure if I am explaining correctly- for those who are using Amy's transfers know what I mean, I guess
Avery works real well w/ this too but definitely more of a plasticy feel

Oh! Another quick tip- For the image designs that were done for me that are more angle shaped (squares & rectangles, etc) you can use a paper cutter- The blade won't last very long though- much smaller surface of blade to use it will build up "fiber" and you must clean it after each cut to keep them smooth but it does work!
Good Luck Everyone!

it takes some work, time, and patience - If you like you can cut away the larger pieces w/ scissors before you start the detail cutting

Mainly, for things like the crowns on the mickey heads and between letters and such- it helps greatly to get a very clean transfer-
When you are ready to iron it on, use a wooden ruler to place and if you like place a chalk line so you don't have to hold the ruler in place-
This is also helpful when you want to add other elements to the transfer-
i.e. Kelly's name designs where the small dingbat images are around the design- you can still have the look by placing everything yourself and omitting the white around the name design

Or even if you wanted to have a Mickeyhead w/ character hanging outside of it and then add your family name above it-
works great for not having to worry about trying to trim each design evenly so one design doesn't have more "white edge" than the other-

Okay, I hope this was explanation enough- & I hope it helps someone-

Wonderful and very helpful information! Thanks for taking the time to
write all of this for us..Hugs Mel:goodvibes :goodvibes :santa:
