My DD11 was put on trileptal for seizures over a month ago. Since then, no seizures, but I have noticed at night that she is VERY restless and really twists her legs and body. Has anyone else had any experience like this? I wonder if they are still seizures? She tends to sleep soundly for an hour or two then the movement begins for several hours and then she rests peacefully in the early morning.

Thanks for any info

DS8 is also taking Trileptal, and I wish I knew. When he had the 24 hour Video EEG while on the medication, there were nocturnal seizures that still showed up and he has complained of seeing flashes and feeling like something is biting his brain while sleeping or trying to sleep. I've only witnessed him making some clicking noices with some unusual movement once.

His behavior is usually a good indicator that a seizure has occured. He is very cranky and irrational afterwards, but to the neuro, bad behavior is not proof enough to increase the medication even if we were certain it needed to be.

I don't think it's the tripleptal itself causing the restlessness, because whenever we've increased it, he has been extremely sleepy for a few days before he adjusts to the new level, but of couse I could be completely wrong.

There is a parents board on the communities of the epilepsyfoundation.org http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/efforums/forum/categories.cfm?catid=2which is very helpful, and a great bunch of people.

Sorry, I'm not much help, but I worry too.
Hugs,
Cindy

DD is also on Trilyptal and I haven't noticed any night restlessness; like the pp said, probably a good idea to let his Dr. know.
