Cooking trifle with cherries

Does anyone have a good trifle recipe to share that includes cherries?

I'm no trifle expert (I hate it, DH loves it!) but can't you just put cherries in with the jelly layer on the bottom? Maybe buy black cherry jelly - sorry, jello - if you can get it

Cherries on a Cloud

Take one angel food cake, break into large pieces.

Take container of Cool Whip, combine with 8 oz, softened cream cheese, 1t vanilla, and sugar to taste.

Layer, cake pieces, cream cheese mix, and cherry pie filling. Repeat.

Could probably substitute cherries in own juice for pie filling. I have also used strawberries, sliced as well.
