Do you typically get a lot of kids? What times are the kids allowed out in your town?

Our first Halloween in this house it was hard to judge because we had just moved in and we were unpacking and in and out. Last year we got a ton of kids, we easily went through 300 pieces of candy though I do give more than one per person. This year we are off to a slow start but the weather is nice so I'm hoping we get a lot of kids - I am prepared! Trick or treat hours are from 4-7 without and adult, 4-8 if you are with an adult.

I don't think there are specific set hours here. We usually get 2 to 3 dozen. Already had two show up with parents, all in costume, right after I got home from work about 445 pm. But almost all usually show up after dark.

The big subdivisions around us are doing 6p-9p times.

We usually turn on our lights around 6:30p. This year it won't be until I get home which will be closer to 7pm.

We haven't gotten many Trick or Treat kids - last year we only had about 15 - part of the problem is the houses at the front of our tiny subdivision don't participate so people don't come down to the end which had 6 houses lit up last year. It seems like every year there are less and less houses participating in our 23 house subdivision.
We decorated the front of our house this year so we are ready for them.

Things usually get going here around 6ish...I don't think we have set hours. My kids are hitting our street and then DH is taking them to a friend's neighborhood and dropping them off...their friend's mom is going to take them to every house. I just don't have that in me! I didn't even like trick or treating as a child, I just want to decorate and hand out candy. It's going to be like record high temps here, so I imagine we'll get several kids. There's a church about a block away that does a light up the night party, and we get a bunch of kids after that ends because it's within walking distance.

I turn off the light when the candy runs out...I get more generous with candy as the night goes on because I don't want leftovers. Or rather, I DO want the leftovers but I don't NEED the leftovers. So I make sure there's no leftovers ::yes::

We're the closest densely populated area to a bunch of farms and the like. It usually starts about dusk with the little ones, then really hits around 6:30 with truck loads of hay riders. They really don't have anywhere else to go but here. It starts to let up around 9pm. We expect about 250 this year when all is said and done.

Our first house was in a development set in a depressed area. People would bus their kids in and it was sheer madness. We would have hundreds and shut the door around 8pm.
Now, we live in a much nicer neighborhood and don't get very many...sometimes 10 or as much as 50. Again, we close the door around 8pm.

We have no set time.
The kids usually start coming around 6 and are mostly done by 8 or so

This is our first year in this house so I have no idea how many we'll get. It's really cold and rainy today so I'm not expecting too many.

No rules here but kids typically go out from about 6-8, we usually get about 250-300 kids but it's warm this year so I wouldn't be surprised to get more.

No set hours here. I have 50 cups of candy made up, but so far, we've only had eight kids. (I expect the busiest time to be between 7:00 and 8:00.) It's nothing compared to when DS was little, though. We used to get a ton!

We don't get any kids at our house, the main street our cul-de-sac is off of doesn't have sidewalks so I can't blame them. We head to a friends house who is in a huge subdivision, usually go through several Costco bags of candy, the big ones. No set times anywhere around here, usually starts around dusk and goes until 8:30-9.

We have been here for 12 years and never had any trick or treaters, lol. Not many street lights out this way, and no sidewalks, so they tend to stay more 'in town' , we are just past the city line.

Ours is 6-8 and we only get between 30 & 40 kids, so a few years ago we switched to the full size bars. The kids love it, they get so excited.

The snack size candy has really gotten chinzy of late hasn't it. I remember as a kid getting pillowcase full of nothng but big bars.

we don't get too many ToTers anymore, just the little ones and that stops around 7:30. I just dropped my ds and his friends off in a different neighborhood, I'm picking them up at 9.

Our youngest 2 are teens and are done Trick or Treating (got home from after school soccer at 6, starving and stinky tonight). So we don't turn the light on any more. (Still had someone ring the bell tonight.)

Had a good run of 20 years decorating with lights, decos and homemade gravestones. Bought 10 bags of Sam's club sized bags of chocolate candy for years and always ran out. Organized the first several trunk or treat events at church.

It's time for others to go all out around here. We're going to sit it out for a while.

4:00 seems a bit early...most people don't even get off work til about 5 and then there's the drive home, dinner, etc.

No set time here either but when we DID have trick or treaters (not many anymore, if at all), they didn't start showing up until about 6. Don't think I've ever had a trick or treater show up while it was still daylight out.

Last year was our first year here. It's only a quarter mile from where we lived before and got tons of Trick or Treaters. We got a handful of kids even though the whole neighborhood is filled with kids. We give out before and after we get back but it's like the whole neighborhood shut down at 8pm. We'll see what happens this year. I expect little ones to start showing in about half an hour or so.

Our township and the surrounding areas all have 6-8 times. When we first bought our house 30 years ago, we used to get a lot of kids because parents from more rural areas would drop off their kids to trick or treat here. Over the years many more housing plans have been built with sidewalks and houses closer together, so I don't get many at all. We also give out full size bars now. I had 18 kids between 6-6:30, 2 from 6:30-7, and none since! Eating some candy right now.

I will leave my lights on a bit longer in case any stragglers want to stop, as I still have candy!
