we're in the exact same boat and I just keep hoping something will open up for our dates. I'm going to have to call every.single.day. *sigh*
Try the day after the last day to pay. Hopefully someone will have not paid their balances and rooms will open up elsewhere. I will be calling daily as well.

While we were at Disney in August (Poly, BC) a couple of things...

1. Poly had great sound proofing. Never heard anyone else. Awesome
2. Beach Club ... huge gaps in doors. Connecting door to a family of six next door arguing and not going to bed until late. A family with a baby on the other side waking up crying multiple times. We didn't sleep much at all there. I could actually understand all the conversations, etc.
3. I can't imagine adding the sound of barking dogs.
4. While we were at Disney my ex brought his new puppy into my home 600 miles away multiple times (without my permission. That's a whole 'nother issue.). Since my cat was boarded while we were at Disney and we weren't due to pick her up for about 36 hours after we arrived home, my children and I were unsuspecting "blood meals" for the fleas that were waiting. Since we (my kids and I) aren't on flea medication, the fleas that bit us were able to lay eggs and so on. We were bitten badly and an infestion took over our house. Now, after Orkin and help from the vet and daily vacuuming and washing bedding for six weeks we are almost back to normal.

My point with #4 is that Disney won't know if pets have fleas or not. Fleas use people for blood meals.

All that said, we have stayed yearly at a pet-friendly house rental every summer for years but pretty much the same people stay for the same weeks each year so it isn't so random.
Have to disagree. 3 stays at the poly- soundproofing stinks. I know way more than I wanted to know about my neighbors last month. I know both their kids names, that they call grandma every night and their entire plans for the day. I think you just got lucky.

It’s very unfair isn’t it. I just wish we’d had more notice. I sincerely hope something opens up for you. These vacations are meant to be exciting and relaxing

We're bringing 3 foster kids with us this time to give them the family vacation they will likely never get again. I'm absolutely gutted. One of them is terrified of dogs. I had them note our reservation, but I just don't know if that will be enough.

This answer on it's own answers the question as to whether there will actually be designated, set apart rooms for dog families. If there were and it was something like a bookable category, they would have no trouble with this request. Their answer to you is there is a potential for dogs to be in each and every room, so therefore they can't promise you won't follow one.

I don't think they are going to allow guests with dogs to stay in any room at the resort. They really are going to keep the dog friendly rooms to one area (I know this for sure at YC). Having said that, what IS going to happen is say they have 10-20 dog friendly rooms unoccupied and high demand for rooms then they are going to be assigned to guests without dogs. They are not going to let them sit empty. Even if dog friendly rooms were a bookable category guests without dogs could still be assigned to one. We've been given a King room and an accessible room without booking one. That is what's going to happen here. We're probably saying the same thing, but I just wanted to clarify that they are not planning on letting guests with dogs to stay in any room.

Sounds like we were lucky. It was awesome. Not a peep from anywhere. We were on the 2nd floor too. Did you have a connecting door? Seems that always makes noise worse. Our BC stay was truly miserable sleepwise since when the one family would finally get quiet, the ones on the other side's baby would wake up. We got jittery and unable to sleep well even when there was a lull because you couldn't predict the next outburst. We were in Raratonga at Poly.

That’s awful. I know how debilitating a dog phobia can be. People who are frightened of spiders might understand. Freezing when you see a dog; heart beats faster; starting to sweat; can’t continue with what you were doing until ‘threat’ is gone. Then the next so many minutes trying to calm back down again. Finally feeling edgy as you continue your day. I feel for your foster child. I’m not as bad with the odd service dog as they are on those short harnesses and I know they are intensively trained. Also I understand how needed they are.

I really hope you have a great holiday with your foster children though. Thank you for all you do for them!

But if they are assigning guests to dog rooms who don't have a dog or want to be near dogs, it's kind of a moot point isn't it?

Will the Yacht Club change their room service menu to now include dog food?
As someone who once received a terrible room service breakfast at WDW, I would argue that they already do include dog food on their room service menu.

In all seriousness, Disney food at most restaurants is perfectly fine but my room service experience was SERIOUSLY disappointing.

So do you think that club level 5th floor will be dog free? Will they give CL guests w a dog a room in the designated dog area, with band access to the 5th floor?

Dansdad, another person got a totally different response from the yacht club. This is why everyone is so concerned. All reponses from Disney appear to be different.
I just posted this is the Resort Club Level Thread but an putting it here too just as an fyi:

So, I just did an online chat session with Disney. Thought you all might be interested in the conversation. Here it is, exactly word-for-word:

Me: I have a question about the new dog-friendly policy at the Yacht Club Resort. If I book a club level room, will I be allowed to bring a dog?

Disney Rep: it will take me a moment to research your answer to your question. I will be right back!

Me: Thank you!

Disney Rep: Yes, all rooms are said to be available.

Me: So, I would still be placed on the regular club level floor (5th floor)? Also, can I book any room category on club level (standard view, garden view, or water view)?

Disney Rep: Yes, depending on the resorts club level usually has better views but all apply
(*Note: I typed the above response exactly as the Disney rep wrote it. Very odd wording, but I think the gist is that I can book any room category on club level)

Me: I am assuming dogs are not allowed in the club lounge?

Disney Rep: Yes they are only allowed in your room

Me: Thank you for answering my questions

Disney Rep: You're welcome. Have a magical day.

So, there you have it. Take it with a grain of salt...we all know that info can vary greatly from Disney rep to Disney rep.

For the record, I am very against allowing dogs (other than service dogs) at any resort. I was hoping that booking a club level reservation would prevent us from getting a room that had previously been occupied by someone else's pet. Guess not.

How many people who book CL and bring a dog will be taking table scraps from the lounge back to the room for their dog to eat? haha!

I think I'm correct in saying that at FW that they do put Guests with dogs in 'dog-free' loops when there's no other availability, so there's no guarantee there and, as you, it could well work the other way with hotel rooms, as well.

This is separate, of course, from the issue of shared public areas.

...You don't light your cigarette until you get to the smoking area, but you can't magic your dog to your room or a dog relief area in a similar way! :teeth:

I have found the Chat CMs to be even more misinformed/wrong than the phone CMs. Nobody should take what either says as coming from Disney without verifying here first. :rotfl2:

It's my best friend's foster kiddos...we're just helping foot the bill, but I will pass along your comment. she's my hero.
