Trevor's Star Wars Make A Wish trip

Hope everything on the MRI comes back good! :goodvibes It is so exciting to hear all your plans!:yay:

Thanks guys! Trev is super excited to spend the day at Children's tomorrow so that is helpful :) After school today we are going to head to IHOP for their free pancakes and make our annual donation to Children's Miracle Network. The kids always look forward to this. Next year Trev will be old enough that he can help serve pancakes on this day. He is super excited for that!

I finally loaded all my pics from my camera onto the computer. It seems we have a couple months worth of pics on their! I finally got rid of my flip phone and got a smart phone so downloading pics will be MUCH easier!!

The kids got to go to build a bear for the first time... I didn't get a pic of Trev he was too quick :) But he is in the background picking out a Jedi outfit for his bear :)

Trev had his cardiac dye contrast MRI today and once again he was a ROCK STAR!! He was SO excited to be "sleeping in a big machine"! He has been telling his friends at school and of course they did not believe him :)

We left for Children's at 9:30am and returned home about 5:30pm. Trev had a long day and here it is 10pm and he is STILL not asleep!

He was put under general anesthesia and did a wonderful job! It was a first for me to be back there while he was being put under. Cardiac kids can never have their parents with them in the OR so it was interesting and hard to see.

I got lots of pics of course :) They would not let me take any of the MRI machine but that is okay. Trev was in recovery for about 30 minutes before he started to stir. It took a little over an hour for him to fully wake up. He was kinda funny as he was starting to wake up! I got some video and he enjoyed watching it on the way home.

He enjoyed his day at Childrens... Video games, popsicles, pop, juice, mommy all to yourself... It doesn't get much better than that!

Here are some pics from today...

Starting to get sleepy... Not before giggling though :)

Concentrating on those video games before we were finally able to go home...

We should have results of this test and last weeks stress test in a couple weeks. Praying we can hold off on surgery for at least one more year!

Jackie

Thanks Melissa!

I'm not sure why but at least 2 of my kiddos get kinda wired after general anesthesia! The first hour was rough on Trev trying to wake up but after that you can't keep him down! They said he would be sleepy the next 8 hours and probably take a nap... NOT my kid! He was so full of energy and did not fall asleep until midnight! It is now a couple minutes to 9 and he is STILL sleeping! I already called the school and said he would be late. He deserves to sleep in after his busy day yesterday!

I made more reservations. This time for the Tusker house. It is all becoming so real now! I think we may do that instead of Chef Mickey. Plus I like the time of the Tusker House better. It would be a late lunch instead of an early breakfast.

We got our trading pins down to show the kids and teach them about pin trading... They thought that was pretty cool! Of course the girls said they would only trade for princesses. Trev was a little more open minded :) I can't believe it has been 10 years since my husband and I went to Disneyland!

We met the minions from despicable me yesterday at the hospital... Te kids were not too impressed... I think I need to get them around more costumed figures so they will be a little more comfortable at Disney World!

Now to wait patiently for 2 weeks for the results of Trev's tests he has had this past week!

Jackie

Your kids are gorgeous

Glad to hear Trevor did so awesome! Rock Star indeed! These kids remind me every day just how tough and courageous they are. Fingers crossed that everything comes back looking good.

Jace is the same way after she wakes up from general anesthesia. Give her a popsicle and then get out of the way, she is going to the playroom, no if ands or buts. :rotfl:

I've been thinking about Tusker, too. The only thing that has me thinking against is that everything I've read says to do the safari early in the day, because that's when the animals are most active. Unless we could get a late enough reservation to do the safari once or twice first and then eat.... So many choices!

Sorry I somehow missed your updates.

Love the pics :)

Serving pancakes at IHOP next year sounds fun :) I like living in our small community, but being so far from "civilization" does have it's drawbacks - closest IHOP is an hour away.

Glad the MRI went well, and that he enjoyed his day at Children's. Praying for the results.

Angel would have been thrilled to meet the minions. :)

Ah... Thanks :) Yes! All of our kiddos are rock stars and absolutely amazing!!

For the Tusker house we will be eating a late lunch. So hopefully we will be able to see a lot of animals before then! Since we have never been there it is so hard to know what time and what places we should make reservations at!

Sorry I somehow missed your updates.

Trev is very excited to serve pancakes. I don't think I could live that far away from everything... Although it must be peaceful at times :)

Hopefully we will hear by the end of next week about the results of both tests. I am hoping that since I have not heard anything that there is nothing urgent showing on the test results...

It has been a busy few days. The girls just finished up basketball. Watching 4 and 5 year olds playing basketball is great... Watching your 4 year old twins playing is even better! The way the interact with each other on the court is hilarious! They stole the show each week! They were the youngest on the team by far. Most were 5 and 6 year olds but they held their own! They are tough little things... I'm sure that has nothing to do with having an older brother :)

Trev has one more week of basketball left. He has really become a good little player. He is not the quickest on the team but that does not stop him. I'm not sure how much faster he will be after his next surgery but he is holding his own right now.

Jackie

Your girls playing basketball must be adorable! (Trev too, but maybe he doesn't want to be adorable!)
My husband played basketball for years, but he married 4'11" me, so I think he's resigned that basketball kids aren't in the cards, lol!

I just got caught up reading your PTR. It sounds like your family's been through quite a bit. I'm glad that Trevor gets to go to SWW for his MAW trip. :darth: I can't wait to read more about it and all the planning. :goodvibes

We have a list of things we want to do at GKTW. Of course this could change on a daily basis :)

Horse back riding and the carousal are a must for all 3 kids! And of course how could we forget lots and lots of ice cream... My favorite part :) The girls want to go to the spa because of course 4 year olds MUST be pampered :) They would have me change their nail polish every day if I let them... Trev wants to try out mini golf. I think it would be fun for the whole family... I wonder how 2 four year olds would be with clubs:eek:

They really want to do Candyland but that is the day we arrive after a red eye flight and with the 3 hour time difference I don't know if they will be able to stay up that late nor do I know if I want them too. I am hoping that after the very LONG day they will fall asleep early and wake up early (well early to us anyway) and we can head out to Sea World that next day.

The other thing they want to do is Christmas at GKTW. Of course they want to swim and play on the playground too. I wonder how much time we will actually spend at the parks :)

So last night the girls informed me when they grow up they are both going to be Ariel.... Evidently Daddy will turn into Prince Eric and they will marry Prince Eric... Oh yeah and they said I have to make their hair red so they can be Ariel when they grow up :)

I'm so glad the MRI went well. We've never been allowed in the room when ds gets his anesthesia for his MRIs. I'm sure it was comforting to him to have you there.

I am continuing to pray for good results for the MRI.

JJ got a bit wired too. He wanted to play and run, but he remained a bit loopy and his balance was off more than usual.

It was probably best that he was able to rest the next day.

OOOhh, Tusker House is a great choice! We found that we liked their breakfast food better than their lunch choices. Our resies were for early lunch, but they were still serving breakfast when they seated us. The salmon was excellent though. I told our server and next thing I knew, the chef came out with the recipe for me!

I hope your children come to love the characters and meeting them. Maybe it's just a strange concept at first. Once they see other people enjoying it, they probably will too.

Yeah was hoping it would be same weekend...oh well...

I assume you guys will be there sat and sunday too? I have been reading thru your PTR and last year report but I didnt comment on last year cause I just found it lol...but we will be sure to say hi if we see you...maybe my DS can entertain your DS in line (like the girl did last year :) )

I'm so sorry I missed your comment to me.

We will be there every day of every weekend except for the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.

That girl was so sweet. She was a godsend.

Yes, please be sure to say hi.

Please feel free to come on over to my PTR for SWW and hop right in and post away.

We are lucky Trev gets to play basketball. His only restrictions on sports are no contact sports... I have to admit I am not that sad that he does not get to play football or hockey. We have always steered him in the direction of sports his cardiologist has okayed for him.

I finally got a smart phone and I have been doing the same thing! I have been accidentally deleting emails too. I have been waiting until I am home on my computer to do my updating and FB :) The camera is great and uploading pics is super easy with it though!

Thanks for the prayers! I am hoping I hear something by the end of the week. But I am guessing since I have not heard anything yet that nothing is too urgent...

I am glad I made a good choice on restaurants :) Having never been there it is hard to know which ones I should choose! We are doing a late lunch that day. We plan on eating breakfast at GKTW and bringing snacks with us until lunch time.

We have been looking at them online a lot and I think the girls are warming up a little bit. I think I'll have to take them to Red Robin on a day Red is there and start slowly :)

I am SO proud of Trevor! He asked me if he could do a presentation for his class about his heart and his recent hospital visits. I thought it was a GREAT idea! I asked his teacher and she is very excited for his presentation! He will be doing it tomorrow which is perfect because this week is congenital heart defect awareness week! We picked a good time for his tests to be done :)

He practiced a little tonight and of course was super silly... We'll see how he acts when he is in front of his classmates :)

Here is a pic of him with his poster he made:

Hi,
My DD also has PAw/ IVS. I just read the beginning of your report so far, I'm subscribing! Nice to meet another heart family.

Your son is so cute. I just came across this because of the bump and wanted to say I'm so happy he is doing so well.

If I'm around when you get your dates I will stop and say hello to your little Padawan. I love meeting the special kids who come to Disney. My little cousin went to Disney with Make a Wish and I know it brightened her day and life so much so as a cast member I always strive to find the MAW and GKTW kids and adults so that I can repay the debt and make some other families child have a great day they will never forget.

That's so great to bring awareness to his classroom. I'm sure he'll do a great job and bet he won't get silly at school when he gives his presentation.

Red Robin sounds YUM ;)

I've never eaten there, didn't realize they have a character.

What a great idea! Let us know how he does!

Trev rocked it today!! His first grade teacher asked me today if he could present to her class too! So of course Trev said yes :) I was there this morning and he did an AMAZING job! He was even a little silly :)

We will see how he does this afternoon when he presents it again without me. I am so proud of him. He even showed off his "line" as he calls it. The kids thought it was SO cool!

His teacher recorded the whole thing for me but it is a little hard to hear as he has a soft voice in class... Hmmm... I wonder what happens to that voice once he leaves school :)

Thanks for joining in! Have you gotten dates for your cruise yet?

Thanks :) We will be in Disney the first week of June. We are keeping the actual dates a surprise to the kids... Not sure if I can wait that long :)

It's the same way at our house.
