Trevor's Star Wars Make A Wish trip

So glad Trevor gets his Wish! Carter and him are about the same age, (Oct 11) We went to Disney a couple of years ago the end of May first of June and the weather was great. We only had ran on 1 morning out of 10! It was warm most days, but we got to the parks when they opened then around 2 we went and cooled off in our pool. We ate dinner and went back in the evening worked out great!! We have the light sabers too, the boys had so much fun making them!

So sorry Kara has to have surgery. I agree it is so hard to watch them go through it. I always cried, had a melt down and then as soon as they came back to the room I wouldn't let either go. We have done tubes, adenoids, and tonsils on both boys! I always say when kiddos are born they should do all that stuff right away!

We should find out our dates about the same time!

They are close to the same age! Trev turned 7 in July. I'm glad to hear the weather in May/June is nice. I am impatiently waiting for the dates to be announced so we can decide when we are going. I am hoping it starts the middle of May as it has done the last couple of years!

Trev didn't get to help with the light sabers but that is because we surprised him at his party with light sabers and Jedi robes for his friends. They were super easy and a lot of fun to make! Although the robes are starting to unravel a little... The kids play with them ALL the time!

Thanks guys! We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. Then a little midnight shopping and a little nap then back at it again early this morning! I am almost done shopping! But then again I need to be done before Kara has her surgery in a couple weeks. What was I thinking agreeing to surgery two weeks before Christmas! At least she will be able to recover during the break and she won't miss school.

I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving too.

Lightsabers out of pool noodles, what a fun idea!

I'm a WDW local as well as a huge Star Wars fan.

Trevor, Allie and Kara are adorable. Trevor looks like quite the trooper, even after surgery.

The custom light sabors are great. Be sure to make them at Tatooine Traders rather than Darth Mall as they had more choices of parts available during SWW there.

I haven't been ignoring you... I have been SO busy this past week and trying to get my Christmas shopping done before Kara goes in for surgery. I will look at you last pm and get back to you on that....

It was a lot of fun making the pool noodle light sabers and the Jedi robes. The kids LOVED them!

Tanks for all the tips! I have not heard of build a droid. I bet all three kiddos would love it! The carbon freeze me I have heard of and Trev is hoping to do that!

Kara's surgery is fast approaching and I have read WAY too much regarding her upcoming surgery and it is making me nervous... There is a 75% chance the growth will grow back and she will need subsequent surgeries. There is a good chance she will have some hearing loss... I just need to stop reading! But I can't! It is just like with Trev's heart defect I have read so much more than I really ever wanted to know! Trev's cardiology appt is the following week. Praying for good news on both fronts! Yikes! I am just not ready to hand my baby girl over to the surgeons!

Build-a-droid is where you can make your own droid. Here's from my TR

The Droid Factory is in the middle of the store facing the exit of Star Tours.

$11.95 for 1 or $18.95 for 2, so that was a no brainer.

Lots of pieces to choose from!

This day, the cm build the droid for the guests. There were 2 cm, so 2 guests could build at a time. The queue is very narrow. Strollers and wheelchairs cannot fit past the people building without the cm and people building moving for them. Anakin's chair didn't make the turns. Goofy had to lift the chair to make each turn. It would be very difficult for a skooter to navigate if his medical stroller had trouble.

The Build-A-Droid has added new hats. JJ made a couple droids a couple weeks ago, there was a goofy ears hat, a yoda, and others. I can't thing of what they were, but I know he'd be able to name each one.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping. We had company the week of Thanksgiving then spent a weekend at Pop Century. It's time to start though.

Having all that shopping done before surgery is great.

Now if they will only announce the dates for SWW. We are past the 6 month mark. This weekend all the parade taping for Christmas is happening. Hopefully once all that calms down, they'll focus on giving us some info. I saw that they posted about the Flower and Garden Festival the other day. SWW is close to that time of year, so I'm sure the info is soon coming.

Thanks! I'm feeling much better about everything... Just had a stressful moment with everything going on! I'm hoping they release those dates soon too! Maybe that will make planning a little easier

One of my twins is going in for surgery next Friday and her twin is upset about the fact that she doesn't get a surgery. (Trevor has had 6 and this is Kara's first). I'm not exactly sure how to handle it. Part of me wants to tell her that surgery is NO fun and not something you really want to have to do. But I really can't do that as Trevor will have more surgeries in the future and Kara will now too. Anyone gone through this with their kids? How did you handle it? It was never an issue when it was only Trevor having surgeries but now that her sister "gets" to have one too she wants in on the action!

Kara will be having a tumor like growth removed from her ear next Friday. We will stay in the hospital overnight. We are praying she does not have hearing loss but we know that it is a very real possibility. Most likely the growth has gone into her ear bones and she will need another surgery to reconstruct her ear so she can hear. But that will be sometime during the summer. Please keep my sweet baby girl in your prayers.

Trevor goes in the following week for his cardiologist appt. We are praying he does not need surgery this year and he can wait a couple more years before getting a pulmonary valve and conduit.
