Trevor's Star Wars Make A Wish trip

THAT is an AMAZING first page!!! The Jedi Mickey is fantastic!!!

It will be worth it to fill up that book. Our September 2010 trip ended up being two books (and almost 200 pages in all) and everyone thought I was nuts for scrapping pretty much EVERYTHING that happened that week but the kids can look back on that trip and remember what a great week it was.

I'll be excited to see Trevor's book completed when you do your TR!

As for the weather difference in May to June... I took the kids down Memorial Day through June 4 in 2011 and the weather was really great. I think we only had a couple days that reached the mid-80's and to me it really didn't seem that bad. Granted those were the days we were at Epcot so we did spend a good amount of time in and out all day.

We are planning to go just after Memorial Day 2013 because of this exact weather. AND the fact most of the US will still be in school making the crowds FANTASTIC.

Thanks! The whole book is AMAZING!! I could only get him to sit still long enough for a couple pictures...

Before kids I scrap booked all the time! Last month I finally finished my twins baby books and they just turned 4! They are no where as awesome as this one though! Linda did an awesome job. And with it being finished now the only thing that will take time is what picture will go where! Trev has already been planning what kind of pictures he wants and where to put them :)

Thanks for the weather advice. We have always been planning the first weekend of SWW but now that we have the school calendar we are thinking maybe the 2nd or 3rd weekend would be better. I would hate for my sweet babes to miss out on preschool graduation! The mid 80's do not sound bad at all! It might be a little tougher on Trev but we will be able to rent a stroller so hopefully he can use that and fit into it if it gets to be too much for him!

I like the less crowds too. I am thankful that SWW is not in the summer. Trev is so excited to be missing some school!

Jackie

I wouldn't rule out a stroller or push cart of any kind!

I know we keep telling our kids that we aren't taking one, but I'm not ruling out getting one once we get there. DD will be 4 and DS will be 6 and I know that they will get tired. I'm more for conserving energy if it means my kids will be more pleasant!

Wish Mom Alumni here...when I had time (eons ago) I always posted happy pics for all. Taking time to do that this morning for my fellow Wish Families...it WILL be the most magical trip!

Thanks! The kids are so excited to go trick or treating tonight! Not sure how much we will do as it is pouring outside and I don't think the rain is going to let up anytime soon!

Things have been crazy around here. The girls have settled into a nice routine at preschool and are LOVING it!!

Trev just had his conference and is excelling in school... He LOVES math... Not sure where that came from... definitely not me!

We have had some family drama with our extended family that has been taking a lot of our time but I think things are settling down on that front or at least becoming the new normal!

Kara, my 4 year old has been having ear pain for the last few weeks so I took her in and she has a growth on her eardrum. The Dr. thinks it is choleseatoma. So it looks like surgery is in her near future. From what I have heard and from what I have read it is a pretty simple straightforward surgery. The REALLY bad thing about that is from what I have read you can not fly for 6 months and Star Wars Weekend which is Trev's wish is in 6 months! He has already been waiting since last May to go on his wish trip. We are waiting until we meet with the specialist to say anything to him. I sure hope my baby girl doesn't need surgery and if she does I hope we can do it soon enough where Trev doesn't have to wait another year before going on his wish trip!

I will post some Halloween pics later. I don't think the kids can handle waiting another 3 hours before they can go trick or treating!

Jackie

My fingers will be crossed for you. He just CAN't wait another year!!!!

Reddy, over on the scrapbook board, made that awesome Mickey :)

I agree he can't wait another year!! He has waited SO long already and I don't want him to think he has to change his wish so he can go sooner as he is all consumed with Star Wars... Especially Star Wars Weekend in Orlando!

I'll know more about sweet Kara after tomorrow's appointment. If it is what they think it is hopefully I can plead my case and they can do surgery sooner rather than later.

Thanks to Reddy for the awesome Mickey Mouse cutout! Trev LOVES it!! I have scrapbooked in the past but never anything like what you guys put together for Trev... We can't wait until we get to fill it up with all of his magical memories from his Wish trip.

you are most welcome, I"m glad he loves it
someone remind me to post the file on my blog so others can cut it (SVG/SCAL2 files)
I didn't want it out until he got it
I have non-verbal austic boys so I like to help others with special anything that I can:hug:
hope Kara's appt goes the way you want too

First, Prayers for Kara and that they can get this taken care of quickly, that isn't anything to fool around with. :grouphug: Secondly, I hope Trevor doesn't have to wait, we had to postpone Lisa's trip three times over 17 months and the last time it was so heartbreaking. I will be eager to hear good news on all fronts!! :goodvibes

Blessings,
Judy

Sweet Kara does in fact need surgery... The ENT confirmed the doctors suspicion. She was such a trooper! Big brother has boldly paved the way for his little sisters! Trevor has been telling her all about the hospital and how much fun it is! I'm glad he still feels that way!

I talked with Children's hospital about Trev's MAW trip and asked if we could get everything moving along quickly. They said yes! It is vert important for Trev to go when he originally planned. Especially when they found out he has been waiting since last May to go this next May! As long as there are no complications we should be able to go, but it may need to be bumped to June but that would be okay. So Monday morning Kara and I take a trip down to children's for a per op then we will get on the books for surgery! This is all happening SO fast!

Then in a few weeks we have Trev's cardiology appt and hopefully he will not need surgery this year! Trev's surgery has always been on the back of my mind but I never thought of my sweet babes needing surgery.

Thanks! That would be so tough to postpone it so many times! I bet it didn't seem real until you stepped off that plane and were inside GkTW!

Oh my - I hope Trev doesnt have to wait! I also hope Kara's surgery is quick and simple and she heals really fast!!!:goodvibes

Sweet Kara is scheduled for surgery December 14th. Poor kiddos will be stuck at home during Christmas break while she is recovering... At least I have time to start stocking up on arts and crafts and finding movies to rent from the library! She has a congenital cholesteatoma. The ENT said it is a pretty good size and we will not know until surgery day if it has indeed imbedded in her ear bones. She will likely have some hearing loss after surgery and if so they will go back in 6-12 months and reconstruct her bones so she can hear again. They will also have to continually check to make sure it does not grow back.

We spent a full day at Children's with Dr. appts, tests, and visiting with the child life specialist. They set her up with a Dr. play kit so she can practice on her favorite kitty :) We had a lovely lunch in the cafeteria... I really don't miss the cafeteria food :) We toured the hospital and showed her where she will be going. It was a LONG day! At least it was sunny on the long drive to Children's!

Kara is So excited to be having surgery and staying the night in the hospital. Big brother has encouraged her and has been telling her what an awesome experience it is! We asked about flying and since it is congenital she can fly after a couple months so we should be good to go in May. If she needs surgery again it will likely be June so she has time to adjust before school starts in September.

Still not sure what to think about her having surgery. I have come to terms with Trevor needing surgeries... Just never imagined it for the girls!

Jackie

All caught up! So sorry that your princess Kara has to have surgery. I hope she recovers swiftly with no complications and is bouncing around like Tigger before you expect her to be!:tigger:
So is everyone excited that Disney bought our Lucasart/film?? More movies to come!popcorn::

Thanks guys! I'm sure she will be bouncing around in no time... Trev was the same age when he had heart surgery and it was the next night when his energy level was a little too high! Lots of bribery.with movies, and video games to settle him down!

My husband and Trevor are SO excited about more Star Wars movies! Trevor wants them to come out now! He doesn't understand why it will take a few years :) maybe they will build a Star Wars section at Disneyland we can visit someday!

Jackie

You hava beautiful family. :) Sorry Trevor, and your family, has gone through so much. Glad he is doing well, and is getting his wish. :darth: Sorry Kara needs surgery - praying it goes well, and that she has a quick recovery.

Thanks! At least Kara is excited for surgery and has big brother that has gone through it himself to talk her through it! That is a big help.
