Is the only way into the treehouses by the stairs, or are they handicap/wheelchair accessible?

there are two that are handicapped accessible.

someone once had pictures. maybe they will post with them again.

be sure to check out the disabilities board here. lots of great information.

Here are some pics from my stay in January. There are four accessible units, I believe that everything is the same except that the bathroom has a slighty raised toilet with grab bars, the shower is a wheel in shower. This is all in the Master Bedroom. The bed is lowered for eaiser transfer from a low wheelchair. All the seats besides the counter stools and the table chairs were very low. This was problematic for my DP who has bad knees, it was very hard to get up out of the arm chairs. For the second part of the trip we rented an electric lift recliner for $125 and it made all the difference in the world.

Ahhh, memories...

If you look at the picture, the THV we stayed at last week is the one on the path to the right of the ramp (7005)...

Love me some THV!

I believe ours was 7007, and the one inbetween to the right of ours was 7006

Thanks franandaj for the extra info about the low chairs. Now I am reconsidering. My dad had back surgery about six years ago and just can't do steps any more. He is not in a wheelchair, but thinking about getting a walker (so stairs are out for sure) but also has a tremendous problem getting out of low chairs. I warned him yesterday but he sat in one in my house yesterday and got stuck! Might make for a really long week in a villa, but personally I'd rather be stuck in a chair in WDW than in Michigan! :confused3

Those electric lift chairs are quite handy, and well worth the $125 we spent for a comfy place to sit! Bell Services delivered it to our room (although we had moved to Kidani by then) but it made everything a lot better with a comfortable place to sit and easy to get up from! ;)
