Today is our last full day in Disney before we move on to Universal's Royal Pacific Resort. I am as usual sad to be leaving Disney, even sadder to be leaving the treehouse.
There is an extra magic hour at Magic Kingdom today so of course we are off.
Once again Buzz light year is our first ride and then its Micky's Philamagic which is always so good. A quick go on snow white and then its Pirates of the Carribean.
It is now mid morning and is very hot so decide to head back to the Treehouse. Before we go I just have to stop and have my very first ever Pineapple Dole Whip. It did not disappoint and was worth the wait over the last 18 years.
A quick obligatory castle photo before we leave
We have a reservation at Californian Grill tonight so just go to Winn Dixie for a roll and some garlic bread as trying to have a light lunch! Me and Kirsty share a turkey roll and it is huge.
We have the job of trying to finish off the alcohol again as we don't want to carry to much with us tomorrow. so between packing we have a lovely few drinks on the marvellous treehouse terrace.
We are planning to make our way to the Bay Lake Tower lounge for a few drinks before our meal and are going by disney transport so know we need to set off extra early. I had been inspired by the bad mothers trip report as this lounge looked so nice and Joh said it was nearly alway empty.
First it is the boat to downtown disney which as usual is straight away, then a walk to the resort bus stops via a quick visit to the disney craft shop for Vicky to have a look at the scrapbooking items available. We have quite a wait for the bus to contemporary as we just miss one and when it comes it seems like a lifetime that we are actually on it. The whole journey takes us an incredible 2 hours so it is definately a cab back!!!!
We make a our way across the walkway and straight into the lift to the lounge. However it is at this stage that we realise that the lounge is only open to Bay Lake Towers guests as I had thought it was only open to DVC members. There is a slot in the lift for Bay Lake Towers room keys. A very nice lady tries her card but it does not work. Not to be deterred (and I had been looking forward to this since reading Joh's report) we get off the floor below and walk up the stairs and get to the lounge by foot.
The bar is really lovely and we all order. I had the most delicious drink of the holiday the Godiva Chocolate Martini. I think Vicky's is a some sort of colarva
Mark who does not want a photo taken has a long island tea
There is a really nice booth and the bar area is lovely
Joh was right the lounge bar is so quite and we are on our own for a couple of drinks.
It is just getting dark and we go on the balcony and take some photos
We have a lovely time and are ready for reservation at the Californian Grill. I would mention here we only booked this ADR for the five of us in the morning and managed to get a time for the fireworks viewing.
For starters we have a mixture of flatbread, sushi and salad. The sushi is delicious and Kirsty now loves sushi which she has always claimed she did not like, so well worth the visit here.
For main I had the pork tenderloin
Kirsty had pasta for her main although she wished she had ordered some more sushi
For dessert Kirsty ordered the Mascarpone and Meyer Lemon Cheesecake - Whipped cheesecake and meyer lemon panna cotta w/huckleberry jam and she let me have a taste
We had a lovely meal here and managed to watch the fireworks from our table without even getting up, although we could have if we wanted gone to the viewing area.
Our waiter was great and would definately come back a third time.
We got a cab from reception and was back in the treehouse in no time for our last night's sleep. I was very sad but looking forward to seeing Harry Potter
