Fun! I'm green with envy.

I'm wondering if you all could give me your thoughts on renting a double stroller at WDW for the 8 days we're in the parks. I have been advised this would be a good idea. We have twin girls who are 2.5 years old and a 4.5 year old boy. Thanks!

Just saying hi! You'll definetly want to get a double - and like someone else mentioned maybe even a single too.

Just wanted to say Hello and tell you that my mom and I are going to Regis and Kelly show tomorrow.. Look for us....LOL!!!!!!

Hi, I just wanted to weigh in on the stroller rental question above. My DDs are 3.5 and will be 4 when we go on our second Disney Cruise in Sept. which will also be their 4th WDW trip.

Each year DH and I debate the stroller from home (dragging it through the air port) vs. renting at WDW. I continue to say bring your own if you can. That way you have your own "cart" to help you all the times that you are between parks and on the ship (if you cruise too), you don't have to take time out to rent one, and yours will be so much more comfortable than the plastic ones that most parks rent (AK has joggers).

Sorry to hijack the thread but I had to say hi to flipflop! I was worried that the littles locked you in your bathroom while they stacked up all the books in the house to reach the "candy" cupboard and down all the childrens tylenol ...

not that it has ever happened to me!:rolleyes1

Ok back on topic!
I have traveled alot with my twins (now 5!) even without my dh. Like everything else it gets easier and easier as they get older.

I have been gone so long. I am now out for summer and will be able to relax and enjoy coming here more often. We are going to WDW this Christmas. Not telling the kids until Christmas morning. Son is 14 and Girls are 11..... I think they will be so excited. Leaving on Christmas day and coming back Jan. 2nd.....

Hi everyone, I just stumbled across this thread and wanted to share my info.

I have 7 year old identical twin girls Haley (1st born) and Lauren (2nd born).
Both hubby and I work in Law Enforcement (he's sworn, I'm not). I'm a civilian girl geek and average sewing designer. I'm working on twirl skirts, boutique shortalls and no telling what else for our first trip to Disney World. We go in October and can't wait. I'm trying hard to pace myself before I have every moment of our trip planned. So I'm trying to keep myself and my girls knee deep in craft projects for the trip. Seems to be working for now.

I still have to catch up with the posts (I only got through the first 10 pages) but look forward to meeting you all!

Mary

WELCOME WELCOME MARY~!!!~ Your Twins are GORGEOUS!!!!!!

And boy, do they know it! Daddy has already come up with a plan when they start dating (poor girls...can't help daddy is a cop). I'll just remind them that daddy loves em'...

I've enjoyed reading everyones post, looking at pictures and strolling back down memory lane. Having twins has been the best blessing for us!

After trying for almost a year...Honey were pregnant!

I found out at 6 weeks that we were having twins. This was the first Dr. appt. and hubby couldn't go (had a class that week). I was surprised they were doing an ultra sound so soon:confused3 but was excited that I would get to see...

My Dr. was a hoot (he is middle eastern) and was looking around and pointed out to me the tiny little blob in the corner (glad he knew what he was looking for). I was so wrapped up in my thoughts...girl...boy...I wish DH was here...then I hear the Dr say....."Oh MY!" I heard myself say oh my, what? Dr. says look here, see that? I say yes, starring at my blob, he says now see that right there!? Yes, looks like the same blob, right? Dr. says no it's a different blob! He then says there are two! I can honestly say I don't remember the next few moments, I just remember asking is there only two?

I don't remember the drive home, just remember laughing, crying and that I had to tell DH!

I had to page DH and paced back and forth until the phone rang...

Me: Hi honey, I just got back from my appt.
DH: How was it?
Me: Great! They did an ultrasound!
DH: What? I didn't think they did that on the first appt? (dissappoinment in his voice).
Me: They said it was complementary.
DH: So did you get to see the baby?
Me: Yep, I got to see them!!!!!!!
DH: Them? Silence.....lots and lots of silence....
Me: It's twins!!!!
DH: What? (joy, shock and fear in his voice)

The arrival...

My water broke at 29 wks and was taken to the local hospital (country). After the worse nurse every (yes I had to be the lucky one to get her) I was determined to strangle this womans neck! She tried to tell me that I was at 24wks instead of 29wks and that the babies would not make it:sick: She then proceeded to tell me that a mother just lost her baby at 20 wks, I could feel my blood pressure starting to rise and told her as nicely as I could to leave and go get the Dr! After they stabalized the contractions I was told they would be sending me to another hospital. I ask to be sent to Duke or UNC and was sent to UNC. I spent almost two weeks on bed rest surrounded by masses of interns all eagerly wanting to see... :3dglasses

My girls were born at 31 weeks and 5 days. Haley was 3lbs 3 oz and Lauren was 3lbs 6 oz. Haley scared us to death, she was anemic and had a blood transfusion and her blood pressure was extemely low. We couldn't hold her until day two:-( After day two they were put in the step down unit:-) About two days later Lauren's urine test showed blood, so here comes the tests...after days of testing it was decided she was NOT bleeding internally but her umbilical cord had rubbed off on her diaper causing the test to come back postive.:cheer2:

They stayed at UNC-Chapel Hill for 33 days before coming home on oxygen and monitors. After only a week at home the monitors and oxygen tanks went away!

The good news is we didn't kill them! They have made it to the ripe young age of 7 and we have decided it's time for WDW. Life has been full of surprises which I'll be glad to share some of that later, but for now I'm hungry!

Wow! I just realized I wrote a novel! Sorry!

Kristin. What fun pictures. It sounds like you had a great trip. Congrats on the Regis & Kelly win. Wish I had been home to watch you on TV.

Welcome to all of the new members. Disney is probably the best place in the world for building strong family bonds.

Hope you all have a great week. I'm home from Mexico and it sure is hard to be back at work. At least I am now planning for our next trip to Disney in January along with a cruise to the Southern Caribbean with my DH and some good friends. I'm working to support my habits.....Disney & Travel!
