And boy, do they know it! Daddy has already come up with a plan when they start dating (poor girls...can't help daddy is a cop). I'll just remind them that daddy loves em'...
I've enjoyed reading everyones post, looking at pictures and strolling back down memory lane. Having twins has been the best blessing for us!
After trying for almost a year...Honey were pregnant!
I found out at 6 weeks that we were having twins. This was the first Dr. appt. and hubby couldn't go (had a class that week). I was surprised they were doing an ultra sound so soon

but was excited that I would get to see...
My Dr. was a hoot (he is middle eastern) and was looking around and pointed out to me the tiny little blob in the corner (glad he knew what he was looking for). I was so wrapped up in my thoughts...girl...boy...I wish DH was here...then I hear the Dr say....."Oh MY!" I heard myself say oh my, what? Dr. says look here, see that? I say yes, starring at my blob, he says now see that right there!? Yes, looks like the same blob, right? Dr. says no it's a different blob! He then says there are two! I can honestly say I don't remember the next few moments, I just remember asking is there only two?
I don't remember the drive home, just remember laughing, crying and that I had to tell DH!
I had to page DH and paced back and forth until the phone rang...
Me: Hi honey, I just got back from my appt.
DH: How was it?
Me: Great! They did an ultrasound!
DH: What? I didn't think they did that on the first appt? (dissappoinment in his voice).
Me: They said it was complementary.
DH: So did you get to see the baby?
Me: Yep, I got to see them!!!!!!!
DH: Them? Silence.....lots and lots of silence....
Me: It's twins!!!!
DH: What? (joy, shock and fear in his voice)
The arrival...
My water broke at 29 wks and was taken to the local hospital (country). After the worse nurse every (yes I had to be the lucky one to get her) I was determined to strangle this womans neck! She tried to tell me that I was at 24wks instead of 29wks and that the babies would not make it

She then proceeded to tell me that a mother just lost her baby at 20 wks, I could feel my blood pressure starting to rise and told her as nicely as I could to leave and go get the Dr! After they stabalized the contractions I was told they would be sending me to another hospital. I ask to be sent to Duke or UNC and was sent to UNC. I spent almost two weeks on bed rest surrounded by masses of interns all eagerly wanting to see...
My girls were born at 31 weeks and 5 days. Haley was 3lbs 3 oz and Lauren was 3lbs 6 oz. Haley scared us to death, she was anemic and had a blood transfusion and her blood pressure was extemely low. We couldn't hold her until day two:-( After day two they were put in the step down unit

About two days later Lauren's urine test showed blood, so here comes the tests...after days of testing it was decided she was NOT bleeding internally but her umbilical cord had rubbed off on her diaper causing the test to come back postive.
They stayed at UNC-Chapel Hill for 33 days before coming home on oxygen and monitors. After only a week at home the monitors and oxygen tanks went away!
The good news is we didn't kill them! They have made it to the ripe young age of 7 and we have decided it's time for WDW. Life has been full of surprises which I'll be glad to share some of that later, but for now I'm hungry!
Wow! I just realized I wrote a novel! Sorry!
