traveling with multiples!!

My name is Sarah. I live in Tennessee. I have identical twin boys - Justin and Joel. They are 3. They are having their 4th birthday while we are at WDW. I also have two other boys 10 and 8. We are going to WDW June 22-July 2. We are staying at ASMu. I am a SAHM. I just found this thread so I haven't had a chance to read all 67 pages, but what I have read has been very helpful. I took my twins to WDW for the first time when they were one. I have been taking them every year since. This year is going to be so fun because they know so much about Disney, and they know the characters and rides. We can't wait!!

Hi everyone! Glad to see you're all doing well. I've been busy working, and haven't had time to check in. I need to get busy planning as it will be time to make ADR's for our trips.

Headed down end of June for my b-day and 4th of July. Taking our niece with us so youngest dd will have someone to pal around with. Now that the twins are 13, she's feeling kind of out of it. Then we're headed back down end of Sept. My SIL & BIL will join us part of the time with our almost 3 yr old niece. So looking forward to being at WDW with a toddler again! Can't wait to see her face when we have lunch to celevrate her b-day at CP with Pooh!

Booked Easter/Spring Break 2008 tonight with DVC/DCL. Thank you DVC for not raising the points to cruise! Can't wait to do a 7 day. After the 4 day last year, really looking forward to 7 days of fun.

Anyone have pointers for vacationing with teenagers? So far they still like to spend time with us, but I'm sure that will change soon. I can't believe they're 13 already, seems like just yesterday they were in the stroller meeting Mickey for the first time.

Pea-n-me and Karla, Thanks for the suggestions on the places to eat...YOur all the best!!!!

Momsoftwins Have a GREAT TRIP!!!!!

WELCOME WELCOME SARAH

Llp479-Congrats on the DVC/DCL trip that you just booked it will be great. What resort are you staying at????

Anyone ever eat at the Cape May restr??

Are you having bfast or dinner there? We had dinner there last year - good buffet, crab legs are extra but worth it. And we had bfast there for the first time last week when we were at BCV - really good bfast buffet. We always do Chef Mickey's but I have to say I liked Cape May better - it's a nice relaxed atmosphere and I thought the food was better.

We've had both dinner and bfast (w/old characters) in the past at Ohana, too, and I LOVE the dinner there. But it's messy! Great entertainment and fun for kids.

Last week we tried SciFi Dine In for the first time and we all liked it. I was a little worried that the movies would seem too creepy but the kids really got a kick out of it and the whole parked car set up is a hoot!

We also ate dinner at Teppanyaki in EPCOT for the first time - it's going to be closed for rehab soon but I for one hope it's reopened in time for our next trip because it is now one of our favorites.

Our other new favorite (in the "fancier" category) is Yachtsman Steakhouse. Delicious food & fabulous service. Wonderful for a special occasion - we had dinner there on Easter Sunday.

Now I can't wait to start planning ADRs for our next trip!

I was just wondering if you could tell me what your kids ate at Sci-Fi Dine In? I am trying to make sure there is something for the twins to eat. Thanks!!

Two of my kids had cheeseburgers, one had hotdog and one had mac & cheese. And we got them onion rings to share - and they all had a milk shake. I always check the restaurant menus on allearsnet when I'm planning my ADRs. Here's the link to the MGM restaurant menus:

I would just ask for extra pillows and put them all around them in the bed and on the floor.. We even when we were at the swan/dolphin had them push the two queens together.. So there was no way they could roll out one side was aggainst the wall and the other side was against the other queen. DH and I slept in the queen with the side you could get out on.. The kids were comfy in their queen all next too use but never rolled onto our side....

UPDATE*****We had a great time at WDW!!! I stressed over the sleep issues for nothing:rolleyes: They were so tired at night that they crashed with no problems. FYI: the metal cribs are a bit creeky and make sounds everytime baby moves during the night. Christian slept well in his. I was fearful that Carrie would not since she is a lighter sleeper so I just let her sleep with me every night. Dh slept in other bed and Ds7 slept on sleeper sofa. Our babies are 13 months so I'll be glad to answer any questions if any one is planning to take their multiples at this age:)

We'll be at BWV in October. Our summer trip is at another timeshare we own, Imperial Palms, off site. Had to save those points to pay for the cruise. I'm just looking forward to the school year ending so we have some free time again. The homework this year has been ridiculous!

I'm so glad you said that because I'd love to hear some things about SSR ! Right now we're booked there in early Dec but I've been waiting for the 7 month window to try and switch to BWV. But then over the weekend I was talking to a friend who is in the process of buying DVC at SSR (Which is what we have) and he asked me how we liked SSR and I had to admit that we've never been there (not even for a tour!). So that got me thinking about keeping our ressie as is. Please tell me what you really like about SSR, what makes you keep going back there, and how is the...
1. pool ?
2. Table service restaurant(s)?
3. Proximity to DTD and other areas?
4. Are there water activities (boats, etc)?

:thanks:

Oh my gosh we love SSR.. We have visited Boardwalk when we had friends staying there...

The pool is great they have two quiet pools. With neat playgrounds near by the kids love.
One table service rest. which is called the Turf CLub that over looks the water and is across the water from Downtown Disney Westside...
Great to sit outside at..
Can walk to Downtown in a short few minutes or take the boat over... Nice ride. Golf is right next door.
New area opened up called the Grandstand great pool from what I hear with horses that squirt water and all..Now at the Hig Rock Spring Pool they have a giagantic movie screen with movies every night at eight. Kids activities everyday in the afternoon at the pool.
We always stay in Congress Park since it over looks DownTown Disney.. This time we are going to try to stay in the new area. Last time we ended up in the Paddock it is very beautiful there. Great area. We love it ..ANY more questions ask away...

We own at BWV and OKW. We've stayed at VWL as well. I like the proximity of BWV to Epcot and MGM, as well as all the dining options outside your door at BWV.

I am really looking forward to the October trip and taking our niece for the first time. My BIL went to WDW for the first time when he was in his 40's with us and the kids on our first trip to BWV as owners. For the first hour he was there he wasn't saying much, so I was afraid he wasn't having a good time. Quite the opposite, he was enthralled with it all, and now he can't wait to take his dd.

I went on allearsnet to see some of the pictures of the pool areas and it really does look fun. I want to see if any one has pics of the new Grandstand area that you mentioned. I think I'll ask on one of the DVC boards.

Is there a marina where you can rent those little mousecraft boats?

How comfortable were the beds? We were just at BCV and the beds were soooo comfortable -even the pull outs. Is the pull out at SSR the new kind (that you don't take the cushions off)?

I just want to say Hello and introduce myself to everyone.

Tracy:)

All is going good for me! Just went and got a pedicure in preparation for the upcoming trip to Mexico. It always feels SO GOOD! Hope everyone is having a great week!

All's well here.. we're leaving for the World early am this Friday. (:wizard:) I had to check in on this thread before I leave for some last minute tips. Hope everyone has a great week
