traveling with multiples!!

Hoping everyone's kids are feeling better! Especially for those of us getting ready to head out for Spring Break!

Eleven more sleeps until VWL, Wonder and BWV - can't wait! My girls will turn 12 on the Wonder. Seems like only yesterday when they were born. Didn't think we would survive the terrible two's, and now I've only got one more year before the teenage years!

My pediatrician has twin girls. Best advice he gave me when they were babies was to never let them out of the stroller. Maybe he'll have some advice for dealing with their teenage years.

Have a great trip, it sounds awesome! Our twins turned 6 on our first cruise on the Wonder. :goodvibes

The best advice our pediatrician gave us was to not be a short order cook for our kids, that they should eat what we are eating. Great advice, and kind of gave us "permission" to push harder for them to try things they didn't seem to like at first. Our rule now is that you can't say you don't like something unless you try it. Most of the time, once they try it, they like it. Thankfully, now that they are 8 1/2 they are finally becoming more adventurous eaters (though DD was always more adventurous than DS). Yesterday they actually had some of my portabello mushroom sandwich at Panera Bread Company and liked it!

Hope all that were not feeling well have a better week this week. We have all been kind of stuffy/sick since we returned home from our trip - gotta love those plane rides. We also found out that DD may need her tonsils out - have an appt with an ENT, have to tape record her "snoring" before we go. Funny, was in WalMart last night looking to buy a tape recorder, they don't even sell them anymore! :badpc: I hate to see DD have to go through surgery but I don't want her to develop sleep apnea, either. I guess they'll have to medicate me during the procedure if she has to go in (that's what happens when you work in a hospital for 20 years, LOL).

Mine our 13.....so you will survive the 12's.....just get ready for the sprouting of the independence genes. They want to find their own way, but will still need you!!!
Ask me anything maybe I can help!!! :wave2:

was wondering what everyone thinks is the best time of year to visit WDW is????

We have been in early, mid and late November. I prefer The Mid November because of the weather and the crowds. We did go in early December last year and the decorations were nice, but the crowds were not. This year we have to go late Nov. just because of school and work....so we will see!!!

We aren't doing this trip on points - my parents are taking the family - actually I think they are mainly taking the grandchildren but those of us lucky enough to be the parents of those grandchildren are going too! :rotfl:

Last year though, we did use points to stay at the Contemporary - we split the stay and did half points/half cash. But it makes much more sense to stay at the villas with the points. So unless the grandparents host another trip this will probably be the last time we go and don't stay in a villa - the regular resorts are just too many points - esp at peak season.

Thanks for the PD. I will know more on Monday after Kori's appointment.

Hi all
hope all is well. We are having a sick week here also. It actually started with me and then my kids, fever, aches, chills, congestion. Katie had fluid in her chest and Zach has had the worst croup since sat night. We are all sleep deprived and cranky. There birthday party is Sunday, so if you can send good thoughts for 3 healthy kids, and that noone recontaminates eachother. Thanks
Tara

I think I got a pretty decent AP rate so it wasn't that bad - and we didn't have to switch rooms either. But we also were travelling with my brother-in-law and nephew that trip and we got connecting rooms so my son bunked in with them and that way we only needed I room. As a family of 6 we'd otherwise have had to get 2 rooms - way too much $$$!!

Found this and wanted to share it with you all.!!!

TWINS

You were bonded together in the
Heavens before you came to earth.
You heard each others heart begin to
Beat and you shared your day of birth.

If one of you began to cry the other
Joined in, to show how much they cared.
You began learning about your differences
And about interests that you shared.

You have double a mother’s love in so
Many way and in all the things you do.
I am truly grateful to have received such
a special gift.
For I was blessed with
TWO!!

My ds6 ran a fever all weekend, high of 103.8 this morning, took him back to the doctor and he has strep AGAIN. He just finished his medicine last Monday! Now we're doing the throat watch to see when the twins come down with it. Last time it was Will sick on Tuesday, Olivia sick on Thursday, Ella sick on Saturday. If that pattern holds true this time as well, I'll be off to the doctor on Wednesday and then again on Friday.

Oh joy.

Spring has got to start eventually, right? And then all the nasty germs will be gone, right?

Oh please, oh please, oh please.

Did you throw out his toothbrush? I learned the hard way when my girls were little that after the first 24 hours on the antibiotics either toss or put the toothbrush in the dishwasher.

Knock on wood we're all healthy here. Leaving in 4 days for WDW and a 4 day Wonder cruise. Sure would be nice to have a trip to WDW sans antibiotics for a change.

Yup, threw out his toothbrush as well as our old thermometer and the medicine dropper last time! Apparently strep can be so contagious that you can get it as early as 24 hours off the antibiotic.

Pixie Dust to you that everyone will be healthy for your trip!
